How good are Nancy Skinner's chances in Illinois?
I like her, Malloy likes her, most of us like her, but how will she fare in the primary?

1. Less than 50-50
I predict it will be an Obama v. Hynes contest, with Blair Hull throwing lots of money away to no good purpose...

4. I like her views as expressed on the radio,
but it looks like there are really some other good people vying for that office, too.

So Illinois people, whadya think?

6. I've seen her a few times on tv
(I think it was during the 2000 election )as the liberal side on debates with their chosen Republicans, and I thought she was totally cute and very likeable and informed. The Republicans were on defense when she was on the show. Her stunning beauty and sharp wit all at the same time(haha)drove them nuts. I'm gonna be sending her some help even if its only 10 bucks at a time. My husband is born and raised in Illinois till I transplanted him in Texas because I'm so hard headed.

7. Not at all well.
I like her very much too, but Barak Obama has her natural liberal constituency, plus a big hunk of the AA vote, lots of endorsements and a good donor base. If the competition was DLC, I'd vote Nancy in a heartbeat, but (state) Senator Obama has the experience, the presence and the record. I have no idea why Nancy chose to run this race and wish she'd stayed at her post with Ski every Sunday on WLS.

9. funny you should mention that
just got this yesterday:

Tuesday, December 30 from 6pm to 7:30pm
The Improv Olympic, 3541 N. Clark in Chicago
For drinks and snacks.
A $25 minimum contribution is requested.

With special guest Aaron Freeman

Well it’s official – we’re on the ballot! The deadline has now passed (Monday, December 22nd at 5:00) for any petition challenges without incident so Nancy Skinner is now officially a candidate for US Senate from the state of Illinois.

I want to thank you all for the tremendous effort put forth by so many to make this happen. We filed with just under the maximum 10,000 signatures from all over the State of Illinois.
...........
The New Year will bring the Skinner for Senate campaign a whole new energy and excitement. We’re moving up in the polls and we’re just getting started! With a presidential race and 5 Senate seats in the south up for grabs in 2004, we must all work hard here in Illinois to stop a filibuster-proof Bush administration!

...........
I wish you all a blessed and healthy holiday!

unfortunately, she's not getting any media coverage here.....a show giving a brief description of the top six candidates didn't even mention her name at all.

BTW she was just on Faux, debating the host and an IWF-type bimbo, who both insisted the economy was doing GREAT, along with the WAR!!!!!
lie after lie after lie from them.......typical: the ecnonomic recovery of the 90s was because of CONGRESS!! Nancy did a good job refuting the lies when she got a chance to talk, but they ganged up pretty well, cutting her off regularly.

I only listened because of an email she sends out, alerting when she's going to be on TV.

and check this out, btw; interesting site: webhosting for dem candidates

10. I get her emails too, and I support her...crossing my fingers for a
victory.

I got an email today which really needs widespread attention.

Nancy's email said:

We need to wake America up and prevent a filibuster-proof Bush administration come next November. Ask them to sign up for the
e-mail alerts (SkinnerWinner wires) at www.SkinnerTheWinner.com. Together we CAN make a difference.

11. Ain't gonna happen, my friend.
It'll be between Obama, Hynes and Hull.

Hynes will have the Chicago Democratic Machine behind him.

Obama will get the Black vote and the Liberal/Progressive vote in Cook County.

Hull might just pull this one off. He'll play better in the collar counties and downstate.

Should be interesting. Personally, any of the three would be better than Fitzmoran.
