Another attack? Rush said this yesterday.
A caller asked him if he thought Bush could be beat in the election next year. Rush said that same line as Bush said that anyone could be beaten. However, he then said this. If this country were to be attacked again between now and the election,Bush would win in a landslide.

1. That makes perfect sense, Rush...
If this country is attacked again (successfully), the Bush will be toast. He did little protect the country on 9/11 (that story will hopefully soon be told by the independent commission), and if we're attacked again, then the Dem candidates can say that Bush took the heat off of bin Laden in Afghanistan by reassigning the troops there to Iraq. They also could say that, despite the creation of the dept of Homeland Security, the creation of the Patriot Act and by underfunding the first responders terrorists were still able to strike.

Trust me... if it happens again, Shrub will be history...

3. Got to VISUALIZE! Visualization works!
:kick: him out of office!

"VISUALIZE THE CONCESSION SPEECH

I really would love to see bumper stickers that say:
VISUALIZE THE CONCESSION SPEECH

It gives me strength to visualize Bush bowing his head, eating his words, and having to concede. It brings tears to my eyes to imagine him on national TV giving his last weasely little whiny dipstick speech.

maybe also: Imagine being proud to be an American Imagine Being A Member of The Global Community Instead of the Butt of its Jokes "

(Posted on another forum, good idea)

Edited on Sat Dec-20-03 08:46 AM by seventhson
WAS ATTACKED!!!

This has faded into oblivion more or less but it needs to be back on the front burner of our consciousness.

wee need to repeat it over and over so that IF WE ARE ATTACKED AGAIN the REASON for it is CLEAR: BUSH MADE US LESS SAFE BY ATTACKING IRAQ!!!

5. Its the Ox talking
I've always thought that in the absense of another attack Bush would probably win. With another attack there might not be elections. But if there are, the whole present spin of the adminstration, "That by going to war in other countries we are protecting the homeland" gets exposed as the drivel it is.

8. This is irresponsible.
Regardless of whether another attack reelects the President, Rush is basically suggesting to rabid supporters of the President who may be prone to violence, "Attack! Kill some Americans ("liberals" prefered) and your man will be reelected."

What a moron. When will his listeners finally see this crap for what it is?

9. He also said several months ago
that if weapons weren't found in Iraq bush would be toast. This is the same kind of rhetoric that leads to a lunatic downsizing the federal government by blowing up a federal building and people killing doctors and blowing up abortion clinics. He is evil, the worst kind, an evil coward who hides behind his mike. Hopefully, he will soon be hiding behind bars.

16. Some years ago...
Rush actually made the statement that, "a well placed bullet would change history my friends". He was talking about the potential assassination of Clinton at the time.

If you or I had ever made a statement like that, the SS would be down our chimney's and beating our doors down. Yet, this pinhead, makes statements like that all the time, and there are a few, (at least I hope a few, although I wish there were none), that would take him at face value, and actually try to do harm to a president, because "Rush said it was the right thing to do". As if it came from that talent on "Loan from God".....the evil is appalling.

11. See, I don't get that
Why would another attack hand Bush* the election? I would think it would have the opposite effect, as in he wasn't able to keep us safe for all his supposed efforts. :silly: me!

13. The ClockTicks...
The embarassment and humiliation this regime has laid upon the Islamic world is a ticking bomb that is itching to go off somewhere. It's been almost two years of non-stop war and taunting by this regime from Afghanistan to Iraq to the Palestinians. This stuff is being chruned out endlessly on Al Jezeerah and other networks around the Arab world...not unlike hate radio has spread a venom across this country.

The cynic in me expects another attack that this regime will try to capitalize on with a wave of fear, flag waiving and opponent trashing in a runup to assure stealing the election. I'm not gonna play LIHOP/MIHOP, but this regime has exploited all of its opportunities and the Dems have yet to successfully call their bluff yet stop them.

Another 9/11 would expose this regime to a lot of failures, but an attack outside the U.S. could be exploited as the need to "not change horses" in the "war on terror"...a tried-and-true strategy that's been at the top of the Rove playbook since 9/11 (if not before). Rush is just revving up the base, as usual.

People don't change horses in mid-stream if the country is under attack, I don't care if it is Bush or FDR.

15. that's the ONLY way Bush can win
and given the lies and deceit and thuggery that this regime has used both at home and abroad, I don't doubt for a minute that they are planning something...

Think American leaders would never do such a thing?

Remember Operation Northwoods...

20. Agreed.. it's all about emotional blackmail now
Heck, even I was freaked out enough after 9/11 to trust Dubya and want to bomb someone back to the stone age. Fortunately, I worked through that fear and reason returned.

However, I won't fall for it a second time. We get attacked again, I'm putting up BLAME BU$H posters all over town.

18. what an insidious suggestion
Edited on Sat Dec-20-03 11:12 AM by jokerman2004
But be careful. Rush knows his audience. They are conditioned like Pavlov's dogs. That's why they proudly call themselves "Ditto-heads".

If we were to be attacked again before the election, most intelligent people would immediately conclude that Bush would be toast. On the other hand, we have seen the Alice-in-Wonderland fake reality that the Rove propaganda machine has successfully established and managed so far:

"Jobless" recovery (what the f' is that?)
9/11 --> Iraq conquest
Bush Leadership
Bush -- Christian called by God
Bush -- Texas good ol' boy
"They hate us because of our Freedoms"
American police state = Democracy
Unilateral, uprovoked war = spreading Democracy
WMD EVERYWHERE! Must attack Iraq NOW!
(I even heard the first attempt last night to redefine the definition of the Federal deficit. Soon that will vanish too -- or become a non-issue.)

Ok. Everyone knows the litany of mind boggling Orwellian doublespeak.

The point is. These guys are going to keep pushing the envelope until somebody or something stops them.

Meanwhile, I imagine they're thinking: why not at least attempt to pre-emptively engineer a counter-intuitive response (by all real, patriotic Amerikuns) to cheer Bush on if/when his obvious failure as a leader is nakedly revealed by another successful terrorist debacle.

From what I've seen so far, a disproportionate number of Amerikalanders these days are soft-minded and maleable as babies. Just the kind that identify with and listen to Rush Limp-bough.

They will indeed cheer for Bush if we are attacked. They will because they are being programed to respond that way. Mark my words. We are through the looking glass.

and he told limbaugh to take it as a talking point.

a 9-11 anniversary attack will hit detroit in 2004, allowing bush to play the hero again as he dons a fireman's uniform and charges into a burning building to save some widows and orphans!!!

21. logic
People's logic these days is really killing me. It started when Saddam was caught and all of a sudden talking heads started saying "this hurts Dean." Why does it hurt Dean? The war is still illegal and soliders are still dying with no sign of WMD. Now this. WHy would Bush win in a landslide if we were attacked again? How does this make sense?
