17. I've never heard of any of them.
They sure are not on the radio around here. I'll have to try to catch a net-cast.

2. I have a confession to make
I haven't heard any of them yet. I know I know...big liberal faux pas. I know how to listen to the Mike Malloy show (through his site) but do they all have websites and are they all internet radio shows?

I did attempt to listen to the Malloy show last night, but I only caught the last 5 minutes so I don't think it counts.

5. My confession and a request
I've only listened to one, Mike Malloy, and only a couple of times. Is there a way to listen to any of these folks on the internet, my local radio is just to the right of Zell Miller.

6. Do you consider Gene Burns a liberal?
I dunno, personally...he was against the war, at least.

Bernie got caught lying that one time....<wince>...makes it tough for me to defend him.

9. Colin McEnroe
I haven't listened to any of the others, so I just have to mention Colin (again) from WTIC in Hartford. He's smart, funny and pretty well informed. He does pretty well against the dittoheads that call up when he comes on the air after Rush...

10. Any available on WABC or WCBS in NYC?
I can listen to either in the morning on the way to work or on the way home and in early evening and can easily get 770 and 880 out of NYC on my radio.

22. Fat chance.
There isn't a single liberal talk host in NYC, since Lynn Samuels got fired.

You can, however, hear Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Weiner, Grant, Gambling, Drudge and Ingraham, as well as 'Dr.' Laura and a few other Baby-Eating Republicans.

This may change soon. As they say, stay tuned.

And WCBS is an all-news format. forget hearing anyone with an opinion on anything besides how cold it is outside or how bas the Knicks suck.

11. Ron & Fez
They kind of do two talk shows. One in the evening is more an entertainment show, but at 11 am in DC they do pretty much a filler hour, and it's usually about current events, politics, things like that. It's funny and often right on the money. I don't know that they are liberals, per se, but they are most definitely not conservatives.

I voted for Peter even though I really like all three.

BTW, if any IE America big shots are reading this-- I quit listening to IE America when you dumped Peter Werbe. Have a nice day.

20. I also like different ones for different reasons
Thom Hartman is great for a historical perspective and he is very informative about corporatism and the labor movement. Mike Malloy helps keep my morale up. There is also Doug Stephan who is a Republican who hates Bush.

23. Mike Webb is a good listen on a regular basis.
Here in the Pacific Northwest his show is the only one I listen to from the poll, and I find his show improving in recent times (and it was already very good). Liberal with a very "loud L" as he says.

Two others very worthy of mention:

Janice Blue on KPFT (Pacifica station in Houston, Texas). Every Monday 11 AM-Noon - Politics and Activism from the Vegan Perspective, at the epicenter of the beef biz, no less. www.kpft.org/

Bob Linden in California, www.goveganradio.com/.

To be honest I haven't listened to either of them, but I have read interviews with them. I like the ideas and the activism that they represent. Check them out, especially if you can catch them on a local station.

24. What we could really use
Edited on Thu Dec-18-03 06:11 PM by JudiLyn
is a great list, showing ALL the liberal talk shows, and how to find them.

The Guy James show can be found at http://www.theguyjamesshow.com/
at 3:00 p.m. through 6:)) p.m., EST, on Saturdays.

Thank you.

On edit:

Another draw is the fact that some D.U.'ers call the show, as well.

29. Sorry, but clueless here. Trying to locate liberal talk show hosts...
is like trying to find a floating crap game here in L.A.

I've avoided the radio as it's stockpiled with the usual sorry cast of ranting right-wingers.

It shows how much work is yet to be done in this department.
