Did Ah-nold find religion?
I remember seeing his name on a celebrity atheists list a couple of years ago (http://www.celebatheists.com/), but now his name is nowhere to be found. I suspect Repuke handlers convinced him to "find religion" and promptly got his name scrubbed from all "disreputable" lists.

Anyone else remember his atheists days?

1. He and Maria have been attending church
in Santa Monica for a long time - since I lived there in the early '90s. Whether or not he "believes" or just goes for her sake, I don't know.

7. He was probably raised as a Catholic..
Lots of young Catholics (myself included) fall away after they become adults.. Lots gravitate back as they get older or have kids.. Nothing out of the ordinary here..

Also he is married to a "Kennedy-family member" and they ahve always been very public Catholics..

I reallllllllllly wish that public people would keep their faith PRIVATE..

I don't care one iota about their private lives and I wish our gossip-culture would just leave these people ALONE..

Their faces sell magazines, and the price we pay for greedy publishers raking in the dough, is the celebrity culture that we have now..:UGH:

2. all politicians 'find' religion...
a great example is thomas jefferson... he was such an intelligent atheist when he was young you can't tell me that his church attending habits of later adulthood were anything more than good politics.

5. Jefferson was a deist - not an atheist - both in youth and old age
All I have read has him loudly not believing that God acts on a daily or yearly or whatever basis, saying that men are in charge of their own lives, but at the same time agreeing that there was a God the Creator.

He even acknowledged God interfering in human life at the birth of Christ - he just believed God was hands off since then (see his letters)

The Jefferson Bible that all Senators received is the New Testament, but with Miracles removed - as Jefferson was into Jesus as speaking for God - but he was a ONE GOD person - and not into Jesus as God.

As with every person of faith, he had moments of doubt - but I believe Deist fits much much better than Atheist - and both in youth and in old age.

3. He was married...

...in a Catholic Church. I doubt he's been an avowed athiest since he took up with a Kennedy.

4. If you're Austrian and not jewish,
your Catholic, the odd lutheran notwithstanding.

Arnold dosen't talk about religion in public. Good for him I say.

6. I've always gotten the impression that atheists are prevalent in Europe
even though they "belong" to their state religion.
