The question the media must ask should be: Can any Dem beat DIEBOLD?
It is NOT whether can any Dem beat Bush. That's a given. Have you heard of ONE Dem who voted for Gore planning to vote for Bush? Have you heard of at least ONE Bush voter saying they will NOT vote for Bush?

Let's reverse the media spin. Can Dean beat Bush? Is Clark the only one who can? Is Dean another McGovern? What Rove bullshit. Al Sharpton can beat Bush.

Gore got more votes. Nationwide AND in Florida. And the MEDIA whores hated Gore. The more they hate us, the more votes we will get.

Forget Nader. He is TOAST. And we get those 3 million Green votes this time.

Reframe the debate. Flush out the fraudsters. Feed them facts about Diebold. Tell us about what really went on in Volusia County. Its all out there. Just look in the Diebold emails. And don't forget Rob_Georgia in 2002. It's all there. Just tell the world about it. And those 95,000 blacks kept off the voting roles by Harris and Jebbie. It's a fact. And those 75,000 Gore votes overpunched in Duval and Escambia County. Its a fact. You can look it up. And the Butterfly ballot, Teresa LePore's gift to the 15,000 Palm County Jews who wanted to vote for Gore but instead voted for Buchanan. It's a fact. Look it up. Or the Dade County riot. Tom Delay brought us that one. Its a fact. Look it up.

Let's set the pundits straight. Bush CANNOT win. The market going up means squat. Those who lost their jobs won't forget it. Neither will those who saw their benefits run out. Or their 401ks decimated. Or who filed for bankruptcy. Or who are scared that Bush will start up the draft.

YOU CANNOT ERASE THE LAST THREE YEARS OF PAIN. SAY IT LOUD!

The Dems will lose ONLY if they let Bush and Diebold and SCOTUS and James Baker steal it again.

DIEBOLD! DIEBOLD! DIEBOLD! DIEBOLD! DIEBOLD! DIEBOLD! DIEBOLD!

24. Looks like you have to chew it, man
You are spreading disinfo... You should know very well that the file rob-georgia had nothing to do with robbing. Bev Harris and many others have interviewed the Rob guy this file is about. You should read the documents before talking...

10. If it had nothing to do with robbing, what did it have to do with?
From Cecil Bothwell, in "The Soupletter" Vol. 8 # 41, 11/5/03:

"In the 2002 Georgia election an uncertified software “patch” was installed on many Diebold machines shortly before the vote. Investigative reporters found the patch on an insecure Diebold file transfer Web site (i.e., there was public access to the software) and one file on the site was reportedly labeled “rob_georgia.” The ensuing vote defied pre-election polls with a swing of up to 16 points against a popular incumbent."

15. You know, I just love Krugman for mentioning that
he could of left it out of his column, but he specifically mentioned, without additional comment, that the file was called rob_georgia. Hope a lot of people in the Peach State got riled up about that.

25. No, that was a mistake
I agree with the people who criticized Krugman for implying that it had to do with "robbing". It was poor reporting. It contributes to the argument that this is all wacky, made up stuff. Most of it is NOT. Krugman should clarify in his next article...

26. Rob Georgia
I don't think anyone knows what's in the file.

I believe that one has to be reviewed and the best would be for Congress to investigate.

Krugman used it incorrectly.

But it is also incorrect to say it had nothing to do with the Georgia vote.

The verdict is still out. Rob of Rob-Georgia installed it. He didn't conduct a code review of it.

28. Obviously it had to do with the Georgia vote
Nobody claimed otherwise. But there is no evidence it had to do with robbing it....

Thousands of legal voters were prevented from voting in Florida in 2000 after Jeb Bush's administration falsely labelled them "suspected felons."

9. And the absentee ballots were seriously flawed, thousands of them were
thrown out. The instructions for write-in candidates did not include any caution about negating your vote by writing in a candidate if you had already voted for a candidate whose name was printed on the ballot; they just said "Write in your candidate's name here" and those who took it as a kind of verification wrote in AND voted (for the same person) and over 3,000 ballots for Gore were disqualified there.

17. Now that HAVA passed ...
... and Gov. Gang Bang is in charge of CA, I'd bet there will be a "correction" of the voter rolls very similar to FL 2000. If we aren't paying attention, J.E.B.! might even be brazen enough to go for another. Nobody seemed to make too much of a fuss when those tens of thousands of people were not allowed to vote in 2002 as well, even though Florida admitted the gigantic % of error in court.
The media never covered that and they won't cover Diebold (the company that will GIVE Ohio to GW) properly.

Black Box Voting is the scariest thing I've ever read! We should start protesting as a united front on this issue, bring all our candidates along. This is THE issue of the campaign; election reform.

22. Just wanna repeat that: "This is THE issue of the campaign."
If we don't fight e-vote fraud it won't matter who we
think we voted for. The machines will turn it into
a vote for Bush.

Diebold is just one of the makers of vote fabrication machines.
And they're uniting to fight BBV and us.
We have to unite to fight back.

"This is THE issue of the campaign."

20. Sobriety and sound thinking trumps BBV paranoia
BBV is an excuse to lose and nothing more. Reality is not an episode of the "X" files and blaming BBV for lack of a marketable message is a cop out. Snap out of it and put something on the table that the poor and the hungry will eat.

21. When the candidates start worrying about it then I will too
it's a strange thng to say, since usually we worry about things first and want the candidates to worry about those things too. Yet, if none of these candidates think it important then either they are confident with the system or they don't care in which cse they don't deserve to win. I agree, something stunk in '00 and there seems good reason to wrry about the results being correct but if these guys and one gal really want this job then they should be well aware of any potential problems they might have winning the election due to fraudulent voting or rigging or whatever. These are very smart people who I can't imagine would go through all the trouble to run a campaign knowing they didn't stand a chance anyway.

23. Even smart people make mistakes
Particularly in an area they know nothing about. How many candidates have ever done serious programming? Very few, I'll bet. They're simply not in a position to know. Fortunately for democracy, this issue is now finally hitting their radar screens. They're starting to wake up, but will it be soon enough... ?
