CNN Poll (reworded slightly): Is shrub's contract rewarding process fair?
Wording changed to avoid truncation ... Actual wording: "Do you agree with President Bush that only "countries that risk lives" in Iraq should get to bid on reconstruction contracts?"

It's 68% yes right now ... VOTE! www.cnn.com

1. Fairer wording:
"Do you think that the bidding process should be open, to help rebuild Iraq into a democracy as soon as possible?"

I guarantee the vote would be reversed. Stupid polls.

4. Not only that...the 68 countries did not all lend soldiers to die
they only said urahha or however you spell the Marine call. And Canada, France, Germany and Russia have more to give then 50 of those 68 countries....Short sited hubris, ignorance and belicose.

3. Do you think the victors should get the spoils?
I mean the issue could be either rebuilding Iraq as cheaply and as effeiciently as possible or showing the world that those willing to invade and plunder get the rewards.
This is maybe the stupidest policy of a very stupid President. Puts America in the light of a conquerer and not a liberator.

7. Couldn't agree more ...
My father, and ex-Marine "door-gunner" (Vietnam), used to praise shrub for his "shoot from the hip" style, although even he is now realizing the many dangers this dickhead has put us in through his overabundance of hubris. My dad has not only recently donated to both the Dean and Gephardt (he and I like Gep due to his staunch support of labor over the years) campaigns, but he's also actively recruiting his Marine Core buddies into voting against shrub!

I for one simply cannot believe the lack of outrage on this issue. While I'd certainly be willing to believe the media is at least partially responsible (through their distorted spin on the matter), but I can't believe people are so brain-dead that they can't see through the belligerence and arrogance of this policy/administration.

8. this whole question is based on bullshit
because it is up to the IRAQI PEOPLE to decide which foreign corporations they do business with, not George Asshole Bush....

I thought we were bringing them "freedom", but all I see is pillaging..

and once again the media resorts to framing the issue in Bush's terms

:grr:

9. I agree 100%
What Bush is doing has nothing whatsoever to do with freedom, and everything to do with rewarding his rich friends. Personally, I think that the majority of the contracts should be awarded to the Iraqis.

10. notice, troops still die, bombs still explode, SH and OBL are free to roam

11. heh . heard Willy O'R saying
it was "dumb" (for dumya) to break the news that they won't get contracts on the same day he sets to work getting them to drop Ira*'s debts.
har har .. Even he can see it. (he thinks Germany shouldn't be lumped in with Russia and France)
