4. It was great ..Talking about their trip to Iraq
I remember reading the story of the one mom
who wasn't allowed to see her duaghter and
the Iraqi police were called on her by the military
at the base where her daughter is .

She was there talking about it .

This was through Global Exchange so Medea B. was there
and I've never been prouder of my vote for her .

There were many new faces .

Talked about the conditions in Iraq going bad
Had a report of all kinds of reccomendations
and will be talking with Kofi Annan and the Pentagon.

5. I watched some of it and it broke my heart
I felt -- and have felt about this war -- that if I ever sat down and let myself really cry, I'd never stop.

Just how would it feel to lose a child for a war for oil and other riches?

6. As a Vietnam vet I started to cry when I heard the vets with childern
Edited on Thu Dec-11-03 02:42 PM by Mountainman
One thing many of us said before we came home from Vietnam is that we were going to speak out about war and teach the people what a useless way war is to try to solve our problems.

To see other Vietnam vets who now have children experiencing the same things or worse than we did is too much for me to handle.

To all those who come here to DU and still think this war is about bringing a better world to the Iraqis, I hope you get to hear the words of these family members who have just come back from Iraq.

We must end this war now! Turn the country over to the Iraqis with the help of the rest of the world community and pay for the damage we have done.

Bring our troops home and get this administration out of office NOW!

You people who haven't experienced war first hand and yet support it truly will have to answer for your ignorance when you face your maker I am sure.
