Russert is grilling Wolfowitz
and Wolfowitz is fighting semantics.

"There is not much of a difference between 200,000 and 150,000 troops."
Might have got the numnbers switched, but that was a quote from Paulie.

Many countries do not even have 50,000 troops.
50,000 makes a big difference.

1. Wolfowitz is so full of crap
He tired to avoid answering the question why there was such an urgency to go to war as much as possible.

2. Wolfowitz just mentioned
that Saddam spent the Iraqi people's money on things like tanks and military expenditures when he should have spent it on the people.

And how is that different than the US?

10. and who the fuck are we
to complain about where he spent his money when we killed more civilians with sanctions than saddam ever did (we're talking a million versus three hundred thousand or so). we plugged up their economy for a decade, then use the result economic trouble as further evidence against saddam.

it's like a cop beating you up, and then beating you more when you try to cover your face because it looked like you were fighting back.

6. When these guys blame Clinton
why does no one ever whip out the Jan., 1998 PNAC letter SIGNED BY WOLFOWITZ, urging Clinton to go after Iraq? Maybe, just maybe, Clinton believed in WMD in Iraq because this same crew of chickenhawks was pushing the agenda then as now.

7. Maybe more to the point.....
BC had the same intelligence as the current admin. and STILL did not go to war. I think this speaks volumes about intel "interpretations" and self-serving agendas.

5. Wolfowitz stumbled and mumbled his way through MTP
Tried to avoid the Liberia question.

Another question I have, "Why was the UN irrelevant when it came to Iraq but relevant when it comes to Liberia?"
