Lieberman should stop being a whiner!
Lieberman was one of the factors to why Gore did not get more numbers in the popular vote. Also, Lieberman's presidential candidacy was doomed right from the get-go due to his close association with Bush and his pro-war, pro-free trade, pro-Ashcroft (US Patriot Act) stance.

He should just give it up!

1. Lieberman can no more stop whining that you or I
can stop breathing: such a state would indicate death.

2. Lieberman should stop being a candidate
The importance of this election is paramount. His supporters need to be rerouted now, so we can get on with selection of real candidates to beat the horror of 2004.

3. Indeed
In fact, he's been acting like a whiny little #@&*! over the last 24 hours. I'm sorry to use such harsh language, but I have really lost my patience with him and his approach in the Democratic Party. His approach would guarantee permanent minority party status and a Green Party vote of 5%-10% in every election. His pathetic attempts to court conservative white men are destined to go nowhere. All the while, I guarantee you conservative white men are sitting at home and just laughing at him, and probaby making anti-Semetic jokes at the same time. Lieberman's whining now makes me wonder if the Republicans were half right when they said "Sore Loserman".

Then there's the Gore endorsement. Since when does Gore "owe" his endorsement to Lieberman? Gore "owes" his endorsement to a senator who has bent over backwards to appease and accomodate the Bush Administration on almost every foreign policy decision, and a senator who blew a chance to take corporate criminals to the woodshed in last year's Enron hearings? No, Gore would have been betraying the party had he endorsed such a candidate. All this crap about loyalty is a rather odd point to make seeing as how Gore NEVER attacked Lieberman after the campaign was over. Lieberman, on the other hand, attacked the Gore campaign in the newspapers, undercut the Gore campaign during the recount period by capitulating to Tim Russert's badgering on Meet the Press and playing lapdog to Dick Cheney in the debate. I now believe that Lieberman never should have been the Vice Presidential nominee in 2000.

5. Gore took bad advice in choosing the Loserman
Should have chose ABL, perhaps Stedenko, Chong, or Strawberry.

6. Gore should have picked Kerry.
It would have been a better fit in my view.

11. I agree with you Cascadian.
He should have picked Kerry. Lieberman brought nothing to the table except his ability to placate the corporatists when Gore sounded "too populist" for them. Of course that was the part that actually won the election. IMHO, if Gore had run with Kerry and run even a slightly better campaign (stomped on those stupid lies fast and hard and listened a bit more to his gut instead of the idiot consultants) he would have beaten Bush by 15-20 points and we wouldn't be in this mess. Oh ... and as a bonus, the Nader vote would probably have shrunk by a point or so to boot.

17. Kerry would have upstaged him in 2000
People would have wondered after a while why Kerry wasn't leading the ticket- Graham would have been a better choice in this regard.

4. the endorsement is coming back
to haunt the Dean campaign. This was nothing but old fashion back room politics. Joe is not the best candidate, but you don't need to call him a whiner when he has a legimate gripe for a change.

9. So many things...
Seem to be predicted to be "coming back to haunt the Dean campaign" tonight, I had a thought: If he doesn't win the nom, can we turn his campaign into an amusement park ride?

15. Randi Rhodes said that Lieberman knew all about the Dean
endorsement. She said she knew about 2 weeks ago and she contends that Lieberman HAD to know. It was an "Academy Award" performance on Imus. "Duh, I didn't know anything about it; I heard it on the news." No Joe, you KNEW a long time ago.

He needs to change his party affiliation NOW! Or at least become a Independant out of respect to the Democratic Party.
