Could Dean be prepping us for...
a Gore VP position. I mean why not? Sure there will be some that laugh (right-wing freaky types) but I think many in this country would welcome and rejoice this dynami duo. And it would be Gore chance to take back the white house in 2008 or 2012, if there is a world left after dumbya. Any thoughts?

1. LOL, no.
I doubt Gore would want it. And he's not the right guy for right now anyway. We need a southerner or a midwesterner to round it out.

My vote is for Kent Conrad :)

2. This crossed my mind too, but I doubt it...
I'm thinking that Dean would love to have Wes Clark on the ticket...

3. I thought of that
Gore gives Dean credibility in areas he doesn't have it. The environment and basic human issues, and the workings of Washington. In addition, Gore negotiated with Russia, the freeps didn't like what he did but he still did it. Gore props up Dean pretty good actually. I sure don't know why Gore would want to be VP again unless he really thinks he could take the White House in 8 years with the backing of a different kind of Democratic Party. Trouble is, Howard isn't a different kind of Democrat.

5. It's more like Gore is prepping us for 2008, when he want's to....
run against Hillary Clinton. Please note that American's are not going to vote for what will be perceived as a middle class tax hike by a New Englander in the general election.

"It will also make Gore a behind-the-scenes power broker in the Dean campaign, the Gore sources said, and could position him to challenge Hillary Clinton for the 2008 nomination should Dean lose the general election next year."

http://msnbc.com/news/1002878.asp?0cv=CB10

The real test for Gore if he is sincere about supporting Howard Dean is to watch and see if he gives up any of that eight million dollar campaign war chest he's sitting on and donates it to the Dean campaign.

If not, it's hype and he's backing a certain loser in the general election for one reason, so he can run himself in 2008. If Dean wins then Gore can say that he consolidated the voters behind a winner and he claims the title of Kingmaker over the Clintons. It's a win/win situation for Gore.

There is one possible dangerous situation for Gore. Democratic voters who view Gore as a turncoat and coward for not challanging Bush in 2004, and who are not looking for a political figure period, squeeze out a victory for Clark in the South and Midwest, as well a rust belt state or two. Then Gore could be isolated along with Howard Dean into the democratic "Tax and Spend" political hall of fame along with George Mcgovern, and Michael Dukakis.

7. Ok just for arguments sake say your right...
does Gore think he could beat Hillary for the Nom?!?

I think she'd wipe the floor with him. Don't get me wrong I love Al. His chances would be slim against Hillary, in my opinion.

6. Dems - don't say '08

Always, always, always - be
careful of letting repubs set our agenda - without our even
knowing this has happened.

THEY KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF WORDS OR PHRASES.

Saying we are waiting til'08 to do - whatever - is a negative
statement. It implies we are admitting defeat in '04 - even
before the race has started.

The biggest danger to Gov. Dean or any other Democrat is
letting the opposition put us on the defensive.
