6. The way CNN showed the poll, I think that was a general poll.

It's hard to tell, because they included it among Bill Schneider's "Seniors Only" poll numbers, but later in the broadcast, Judy Woodruff quoted the 55% Approval Rate number for all voters.

55% is nothing special, especially in a time of war, as the Bushies are so quick to remind us...

7. We will have to work hard to keep this up front.

Most of this package doesn't take effect until 2005 and 2006. Many will forget about this stuff until then if we let them.

We need the press to help out, but we can help too, by sending letters to the editor, etc. when we see further stories about the Medicare plan. I imagine as time goes by, SOME reporters somewhere, or seniors groups, will be looking closely at what is in this plan, and finding all of the bad news in there. Some will try to suppress it. Some of us must keep it alive.
