Anyone else watch O'Reilly last night? Disgusting
Ok, maybe I'm just sadomasochistic, but was flipping through channels and lo and behold, the "no spin" zone is on.

So, I watch and O'Reilly has the German ambassador as his guest. I thought this was pretty interesting really, that he got the German ambassador for his guest.

I thought perhaps, that even O'Reilly would think the German ambassador was someone worth treating with respect. But apparently not.

The conversation quickly becomes about the "war on terror" and O'Reilly grills this poor guy, interrupting him over and over, and about why Germany isn't sending 5k troops to Iraq.

The German ambassador explains that Germany has been America's strongest ally and has more troops abroad now since they have during WW2. They just didn't have any in Iraq and their resources were stretched thin, but they were helping us in other ways.

So rather than thank the guy or something for being an ally and supporting us during our little warmongering episode, O'Reilly continues to berate the ambassador about why they can't send 5k troops? 4k troops? 3k troops? O'Reilly says we don't really need them but we want them.

I was just disgusted and had to turn it off. I feel really bad that the German ambassador's communication with America seems to be with a rude conservative having a temper tantrum.

Anyway, rant off. O'Reilly sucks.

1. I saw that.
I had the sound turned down initially, and I could picture O'Reilly saying,: "so Mr. Heinie-Kraut, why is your country full of Saddam loving America-haters?".

2. This is what O'Reilly does.
Why are you surprised? the German ambassador knew what he was in for when he came on, at least he should have, if he were up to the job. these people get paid big euros to take the heat, so don't feel to sorry for him.

3. I saw that
He went f$%king nuts. He was screaming at the ambassador about how Germany owes the US for WWII, saving them from the USSR, reunification etc.

The only thing the ambassador could say was that Germany is supporting troops in Afganistan and it was the largest troop mobilization outside Germany since WWII.

O'Reilly just flies off the handle. How is he not booted off the air this is like the 5th or 6th time hes done it (Glick, Franken, etc.)

4. He was hoping to become the mover and shaker he believes
himself to be. If Germany would send more assistance to the war zone, then the jerk is prepared to personally take credit for impacting foreign policy. He's a rank, self-serving heap of s...slime.

8. I've finally taken that advice, myself
It's not only too aggravating, it's actually an embarrassment that they're on the airwaves in such numbers. I can hardly wait till BO implodes. I only hope it's on the air where his followers can witness it and we can at least see the replay. Only a mtter of time.

6. I missed the first part
But if you turned it off early you missed the worst part: O'Reilly (after saying, "let me be blunt") started literally yelling at the German ambassador that the USA saved Germany's ass in World War II and that because of this (I guess) Germany should forever bend over for the USA and do what we want when we want it.

Of course, you don't get to be an ambassador without being, well, diplomatic, and his response was very classy, repeating and clarifying that Germany was indeed extremely grateful to the USA and always would be.

But O'Reilly made himself look like a total fool - a first-class stereotypical American boor. He was really offensive.

21. What's with that?
O'Reilly (after saying, "let me be blunt") started literally yelling at the German ambassador that the USA saved Germany's ass in World War II and that because of this (I guess) Germany should forever bend over for the USA and do what we want when we want it.

Back a while ago I was hearing that the French ought to be helping us out in the U.N. because we saved them during WWII.

Isn't it amazing that we can expect other nations to be forever grateful to us when we help them out, but when we drop bombs on them (Japan) they seem to have no business criticizing the Enola Gay display at the Smithsonian? What selective memory we have officially in this nation!

9. He had the Norwegian ambassador on once...
They were discussing a report that had Norway as the best place to live on the planet. O'Reilly(tell me this guy's not Irish...he's adopted, right?)was very arrogant with the extremely polite and personable Norwegian ambassador, ending up telling him that's he'd been to Oslo and it was "the most boring city I've ever been in". I don't know why these ambassadors feel the need to lower themselves by going on that hatefest.

I can't stand him, I avoid television because I don't want to ever accidentally channel surf past his idiotic mug. And I'm sure pissing all over the German ambassador REALLY played well with his chosen audience of neandethals and village idiots.

What FOX news and the Bush admin would do for some real international help from our traditional allies, instead of this phony coalition of the willing. Bill's an idiot.

14. How About German Courts?
Why not thank him for the terrorists that have been rooted out, tried and are now sitting either in a German prison or transfered to Hotel Gitmo.

German intelligence has worked very closely with the FBI that gave us the quick info on most of the Saudis of 9/11 who the Germans were watching. It was our intelligence that let them in to do their thing. But O'Reilly would be pointing a bad finger at his bosses if he did that.

What did you expect from this waste of electrons? Faux is becoming more jingoistic by the day with a steady diet of flag waiving, foreign and liberal bashing and misinformation. This is just more red meat for the brain dead.

16. O'Reilly needs psychiatric help
Something's not right with the man. First of all, he's paranoid, convinced the "liberal" media is out to defame him any chance they can get. He's also convinced the "secularists" are out to destroy America, led by the ACLU, of course.

As far as the German ambassador goes...why does O'Reilly think this guy has any say in German troop deployment? What, was the ambassador supposed to go straight for a telephone and call Defense Minister Peter Struck and say "O'Reilly says send 5,000 troops to Iraq! Do it now!"

I've reached a point where I can barely stand O'Reilly. I can handle the non-political segments, or at least the segments where liberals are not bashed. When's the last time O'Reilly had a positive segment with a liberal guest? When he interviewed Alan Colmes?

Honestly, I don't know why Fox News doesn't just drop the whole stupid "fair and balanced" shtick. I can think of one Fox News program that is sort of "fair and balanced" and that's "Fox News Watch" on Saturday.

Cable news is pretty much a joke now. MSNBC is doing its best to emulate Fox News. The others will follow suit, in time, I suspect.

Is heynutty a captain of industry or just an ill informed former siding guy? Is the oxxy dealer a disillusioned ,ignorant ,depressed wannabe?
