I told my husband if he started having that "get over it" attitude this year, I would turn it off and write HBO.

At least MacGruder and Hughley yelled out "but not by Iraq". Maher then continued to take up for Bush and the war, and play down the casualties. That is inexcusable.

It was inexcusable when Clinton said Bush made a "mistake." It is inexcusable when Maher takes the same attitude.

There is nothing to justify the fact that our young men are dying, and they did not have to die.

Shame on Bill Maher. And don't give me the usual lecture about look at all the good stuff he does. I know that. I just know my heart aches too much for all the deaths of our soldiers and the Iraqi civilians. He has no right to minimize them! It is wrong when Clinton minimizes them, and it is wrong when Maher does.

1. I cannot believe someone with that attitude, either. I guess I
and you value every human life more. To me it is the most precious gift of all.

And they, the bushwa and their ilk are so callous about it.. with their "the end justifies the means" attitude. Which, there is no end in site so that's balderdash, right there.

I was reading some things earlier on DU that bill maher said and I would have thought he wouldn't have come up with this. Cause he sure wasn't sticking up for bush then. he must be one of those tweety split personality guys.

2. He is mostly putting down the Democrats.
He likes to do that. I don't think he approves of Bush, just doesn't want to be nice to Democrats. I like him at times, but I get turned off when he starts that about the war.

It is insulting to our soldiers.

4. he's the one who kept saying that criticism of Bush
....was so September 10. Remember?

And he also kept denying that Gore won the election and telling critics to get over it.

7. That's what it was that made me so mad.
We turned him off then. I do think his mission is not the truth. If it were, he would not play down the tragedy of this war of lies.

15. I know and to me that is the biggest issue of all. I thought
when I got into politics in 2000 it was going to be all about Social Securtiy, the Environment, Education, ect. But the first thing I looked for in a candidate was whether or not they supported the attack on Iraq!

And that's the most basic important issue because it's one of complete bogusness or clearly thinking that it's not right!

And I think it is key to our very existence as a Nation!
Call me dramatic!

3. Bill Maher Sucks!
He only says the things he says so he can look superior or grab publicity. I was flipping channels and he was discussing how liberal he is with none other than Joe Scumborough - and Joe was just kissing his ass. Yeah, real liberal. He didn't bring up ANY issues with Scumborough. Bill Maher isn't liberal - he's an asshole. As long as Bill's right about everything, it's been a good show for him. Fuck him.

10. You have my total agreement!....
I used to watch him on Politically Incorrect (is that the name? I've forgotten already) and he totally pissed me off many times with his attacks on the Dems and Clinton, yet calling himself a liberal. I stopped watching him and I agree with the poster above who stated that he is a Tweety-type.

13. Yeah, but why do dems keep acting like we need this
shit?

People like Maher are the male versions of Linda Tripp, you think they are an ally and then they open their big mouth at the worst possible time. He's the other side of Ann Coulters coin, some extended repressed teenage angst, "Look at me I'm way different from everyone else and better than you" crap.

The only good thing I have ever heard about him is that he is supposedly pro-animal welfare. And I mean "heard" because every time I have tried to watch his show his contempt for any and all women was so obvious it was all I could do to get through 5 minutes. Just another run of the mill latent boy.

5. do I see another Dennis Miller in the making?
I knew Maher was a whore when he said THAT'S SO SEPTEMBER 10th in response to a concern about the theft of democracy. Maher is a creepy f*** and now he's a Bush whore. For shame.

6. He was throwing Republican talking points out.
And MacGruder and Hughley were shooting them down. I don't know if that was Maher's plan or not. It struck me that it was.

During his talk with Graham, he kept alluding to the fact that it wasn't Iraq that we should be in a fight with.

19. Huh? When were we attacked by the Iraqis???
Seems like they were just minding their own business when we viciously attacked them without provocation. Most of us will not 'get over it'. Is it cutting into his profits or something?

20. My TV is lucky it's still in one piece when I heard that piece of crap!
These people, like Maher, are dilusional. They are scum.

But lying and killing innocent US girls and boys and Iraqis from those lies is OK, I guess. Time to approve of torture and death camps - oh, wait - we already have those, too.
