Happy (?) Enron Bankruptcy Day!
Just wanted to point out to everybody that on this day in 2001 Enron declared bankruptcy. Here's more, taken from my page-a-day Stupid White Men calendar:

The energy giant was George W. Bush's top campaign contributor, and probably wrote most of Dick Cheney's national energy policy. The collapse screwed Enron's 15,000 workers out of $1 billion in retirement funds, screwed stockholders around the country, and showed, once again, our political system is bought and paid for.

I'd also like to add that Ken Lay, Enron's ex-CEO and a top adviser to El Arbusto before Enron went mammaries up, has not been held accountable for the fiasco, nor has he been charged with any crime in the wake of the collapse.

Remember, even in the heat of all the partisan bickering here, that THIS is the reason we're DEMOCRATS, and the people screwed by Enron are the folks we're FIGHTING FOR.
