Heard Deepak Chopra speak about this new, really true 'anti-war' movement that is taking shape among the human beings that find the "the war is all, war in all" mentality obnoxious. Chopra was on a taped Diane Rehm show and spoke about how the collective focus of just a few sincere human beings could do much to change the state of affairs today. Basically, he was suggesting that with so much focus on war, war, war as a means to solve problems (war on drugs, war on cancer, war on crime, war on AIDS, war on people). The focus is always on "war"...the President embraces it, the media pumps it, and the people are brainwashed by it. But there are afew people who believe that human focus can be changed to think about peace, love, and humanity. It's much too deep for me to explain but I have posted the site below and hope that many DUers will consider playing a role in it. It would mean that many of us would have to change our thoughts, ignoring the evil that surrounds us and focus our speech and actions on the positive good that we can collectively garner.
On my own, I was thinking what would happen if a sizeable number of people just ignored the Bush cabal and the media a acted and lived as though they didn't exist? Just concentrate on doing good with and for the people you know, enlarging the circle of good every chance you get. Don't listen to the mainstream media, ignore politics but live within the law and just ignore the hell out of the Republicans. My kid does a good job of this when she is angry about something that I have required, said of done. I confess, it's very effective. Worse than being maligned, rebuked, scorned, or even whipped is being totally ignored. At any rate, here is the site. It is not finished yet, but I am looking forward to becoming a part of this movement.
