'I praise those who struck down our American enemies' - Hasai Iraq
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2003/11/03/wirq203.xml&sSheet=/news/2003/11/03/ixnewstop.html

Holding up an American soldier's multi-coloured shorts that he had taken from the wreckage of the helicopter, the dancing Iraqi could scarcely contain his jubilation.

"Tonight we will have a double feast," shouted Mohammed Saleh, an unshaven, well-built man in his 40s, as he hopped from foot to foot in front of 100 joyous villagers.

"The first feast will be when we will break our fast for Ramadan. The second will be in praise of those who struck down our American enemies," he told the crowd.

Behind them, among the fields and palm trees, lay the twisted, blackened debris of the Chinook along with military equipment and the bodies of American soldiers, who were killed on their way out of the country for a rest and recreation break.

1. That's too ugly for words.
But, then again, our side can be just as ugly... in our own way. The extremists/fundamentalists on both sides are wreaking havoc on the whole world.

2. Ugh
These are the people our Patriotic Soldiers have to fight. And it bothers me so much because we wouldn't be in this mess had we not gotten into this war.

3. We would be doing the same thing.
If the Nazi's invaded and occupied the U.S., we'd be celebrating every minor military victory just like these Iraqis.

12. Can't have a war-related threat without comparing the US to Nazis, can we?

5. What do you expect?
His country has been subjected to a brutal colonialist occupation. Of course he's going to celebrate when the occupiers are killed.

13. Perhaps we could set up a DU fund...
...to help those brave and honorable souls who are resisting the brutal colonialist occupation. I mean, why just give the people who are killing Americans rhetorical support? Why not actively support their cause? We could organize fund-raising drives, maybe recruit DUers to go fight in Iraq like in the Spanish Civil War. Maybe the Democratic candidates could run on the "Fight the brutal colonialist occupation! Kill the American stormtroopers!" platform. I bet we'd get a lot of votes. What do you say?

14. Oh, no...
We have to always remember that brave and honorable are attributes exclusive to Americans.

We should never even acknowledge that they would exhibit a base human reaction to resist an occupying foreign army. Only Americans are patriotic. Only Americans would fight to the death against an occupying foreign army, regardless of our acutal military status.

Who, in their right mind, would want honorable & brave Americans to get out of their country; we're so honorable & brave?! We don't wear towels on our heads. We have indoor plumbing. We speak English. We have fast food restaurants. We have so much technology in our country, we import workers from other countries to do it for us. Our culture is better than their culture; they have no reason to resist, they must be terrorists!

10. Please Remember
That those that you see celebrating the downing of the helicopter are Sunni's.Saddam was a Sunni and while he was in power, the Sunni held areas were alot better off than the Shiites. While this person was eating and drinking good water, those in the Shiite area were barely surviving. The Sunni's in Iraq were favored by Saddam ,while the Shiite were tortured and worse. Now that Saddam is no longer in power, the tables have turned and the Shiite now have a chance at a life instead of just surviving. So of course those people in the Sunni triangle are celebrating, for with every American killed their hopes of Saddams return rises. Here is a link about the Sunni's and Shiites.Ahe'ee Nehemah

We didn't need to go there in the first place. We are NOT liberators. It is painful to see the wives and mothers of our brave soldiers grieve over the loss of their loved ones. Our forces rightly prosecuted the war in Afganistan, however, the saudis should have been our next target in "The war against terrorism."
