Zell singles out Howard Dean for criticism
Clearly Zell doesn't care for any of the Democrats running for president, but he is most clearly critical of Howard Dean, who has made it a staple of his campaign to criticize Bush head on. Here is what Zell says about Dean:

"You know, if some of these folks have been living back to that April night in 1775 when Paul Revere came riding through, saying, 'the British are coming, British are coming'--if Howard Dean was living back then he would have yelled out the window, 'Shut up I'm trying to get some sleep in here.' It's a disgrace..."

Well, Zell what was disgraceful is half-wits such as you giving Bush a free-hand in Iraq. I guess you must include your collegue Robert Bryd, a student of the constitution, among your list of "disgraceful" politicians who opposed the war.

I know Dean is doing something right when Zell Miller attacks him.

1. Dr. Dean should feel honored and vindicated...
By any criticism from the piece of human excrement.

Zell can go to......

12. To paraphrase Dan Quayle...
...Dean should wear Zell's scorn as a badge of honor.

5. Fuck you Zell.
"You know, if Zell Miller had been living back to that April night in 1775 when Paul Revere came riding through, saying, 'the British are coming, British are coming'-- Zell Miller would have welcomed them with open arms and helped the Brits track down the 'traitors'."

6. WTF? THis is completely incoherent
Zell's comment I mean. I would think that IF he were going to criticize Dean (particularly since Zell is a born again repuke) he's say something about him being an "extremist," but this stupid Paul Revere comment is sort of the opposite.

What an idiot (again I mean Zell).

14. I agree
When I opened the thread, I expected to read something about Dean being too liberal, etc., but Zell's Revolutionary War comment makes no sense whatsoever. Huh?

17. Incoherent Cause Zell's Comments Snipped Out Of Context
Zell is talking about ALL the Democratic Candidates, by the way, not just Dean.

This was posted in a right wing (I'm guessing) source... Arizona School Choice Trust.

"Complaining that the antiwar rhetoric used by
some of the Democratic presidential
candidates is putting the lives of American
soldiers at risk, retiring Sen. Zell Miller, D-Ga,
announced Wednesday night that he was
backing President Bush for reelection.

Asked about the harsh attacks directed at the
Bush White House over the Iraq war, Miller
told Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity, "It
makes me ashamed. It's a disgrace for anyone
to talk about -- talk like that in a time of war."

Miller then blasted his fellow Dems, saying,
"Using this war for political advantage can only
give hope to our enemies. And when you do
that, that's going to cost lives."

snip

"You know, if some of these folks have been
living back to that April night in 1775 when
Paul Revere came riding through, saying, 'The
British are coming, British are coming' - if
Howard Dean was living back then he would
have yelled out the window, 'Shut up I'm trying
to get some sleep in here.'"

I mean wouldn't Dean be just the type to throw the tea in the harbor, and Zell would be just the type to say, "God save the King?"

Edited on Thu Oct-30-03 01:34 PM by cryingshame
If he thought the rebellious image it provided would counteract his "King" friendly record.

I'm sure he would have convened a Colonial Focus Group to find out which way the wind was blowing... just like any other politician.

I'm surprised he took the time to even say this, considering he'd have to stop kissing Bush's ass to even get the words out. All this means is that Dean must be doing something right.

Dems like Kerry, Biden and Gephardt had a tough time negotiating for the better IWR. Bush already had the vote for war his way, leaving the negotiators to fight for every change they could get.

But it will certainly hurt him in Georgia, and probably other parts of the South. Sadly, Traitor Zell is still the most popular politician in Georgia.

31. I wonder if the DLC put Zell up to this?
In another thread there is an article about the DLC warming Democrats that we move to the center. There have been other articles where the DLC has criticized Dean for being too liberal. Could this be the DLC's way of influencing the Democratic Primary? If we nominate Lieberman will Zell come back and put his endorsement behind the Democrat? :tinfoilhat: Sounds like the DLC are losing influence in our party and are trying any tactic to gain it back.

This statement is no different that those of Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity propaganda in that it makes liberals out to Anti American traiterous freaks.

Why can't Daschle grow some balls, along with the DLC and the DNC? and simply kick this treacherous scum out of the party caucuses out NOW!
