Does anyone have positive quotes from dictators?
You know, like something from Hitler where he says he's freeing the people of Poland. Or a quote from Stalin about how much he respects freedom? Or perhaps something from an banana-republic dictator about how much he hates corruption?

I'm in a debate with a Freeper who claims that Iraq is about Freedom, and he uses Bush quotes to back it up.

2. So what?
Fuck 'em all. They're not worth your time or energy.

Besides, if you can't fight them with what you've got, your time'll be better spent figuring out ways to sabotage them.

:)

8. Normally I would agree.
I gave up trying to discuss anything with the Kool-Aid drinkers after the Schiavo controvercy.

However, this was a fairly thoughtfull reply, (for a Freeper) so I thought it was deserving of an answer.

3. I'm sure you can dig up lots of stuff from Hitler
the annexing of Austria, the Sudetenland, and Poland were all supposed to be wonderful for the people who lived there.

7. I don't think those guys ever mentioned freedom.
Hitler's approach was to promote lebensraum or living space for Germans. The communists in Russia promised a worker's paradise, which Stalin used to consolidate his power.

As for your freeper, I liked what Stephanie Miller said about Bush bring the jackboots of freedom to Iraq. This is what you have to emphasize, the kind of freedom we are trying to bring to Iraq, really isn't freedom but colonization and the subsequent enslavement of a people to a foreign power.

10. Here's a truthful quote from a dictator...
"We know that dictators are quick to choose aggression, while free nations strive to resolve differences in peace." - George W. Bush, Speech to UN General Assembly, September 21, 2004

11. I sure do have positive quotes from a dictator...
"I think we are welcomed. But it was not a peaceful welcome." —George W. Bush

"Those who enter the country illegally violate the law." —George W. Bush, Tucson, Ariz.

Shrub sounds real positive about that!

"Wow! Brazil is big." —George W. Bush

"Bin Laden says his own role is to tell Muslims, quote, 'what is good for them and what is not.'" —George W. Bush

"I think it's important to bring somebody from outside the system, the judicial system, somebody that hasn't been on the bench and, therefore, there's not a lot of opinions for people to look at." —George W. Bush

I'm POSITIVE he's an idiot!
