It's not about security
that's a straw man

he broke the law. period.

if they shift the issue to security and protecting Murka, we'll be arguing the war on terror and all sorts of other bullshit.

this bastard and his crime gang are seizing absolute power and this was a rung on that ladder.

if they were worried about legitimate national security issues, why was FISA not suitable for thier purposes?

if this country can not stand up to this abuse of power, we do not deserve democracy.

1. As another poster suggested on a different thread
If the cabal is allowed to continue with this abuse of power of illegally eavesdropping on whomever they please, they will have been successful in carrying out ANOTHER COUP to seize absolute power over this nation.

3. It's about control
The patterns repeat themselves endlessly with this administration:

- FEMA concludes that it needs to "establish a chain of command" as its first action in Louisiana.

- Doober asserts with an almost haughty irritation that "the Constitution gives me (! - not the office of the Presidency, or the executive branch) the authority to..."

- the various initiatives for information collection all provide information for prior restraint - of all Americans, not just terrorists

- the modality of law enforcement here and abroad is coercion. There is an explicit rejection of the notion of understanding why unacceptable behavior occurs, replaced by a pious assertion that there are rules to be followed, that the good follow them and those who don't are evil. And of course we're among the good.

This administration is unAmerican - it believes in the opposite of the American principle of the freeman deliberately choosing to partake in a society.
