For all of the megalomania and before-our-eyes proof that Absolute Power Corrups Absolute Morons Absolutely, this entire handling of the wiretap news reeks of Rove, doesn't it?
Think about it: any other corrupt and sane politico would obfuscate, demand an investigation, admit some guilt -- but that is not The Book of Rove.
The Book of Rove says, whenever you have your back to the wall, respond in the most brazen, in-your-face, unbelieveably confrontational way you have to. That will make you look strong and drive your opponents into such a frothing-mouth frenzy that the net effect will be to make your side more unified at your "balls" while driving a wedge into the opposition -- and making them look like the loonies.
To take PRIDE in wiretapping throwing 9/11 like a bloody flag over his shoulders, and again equating questioning opposition with weakening America ... that's Rove through and through, and Bush is playing it like C.C. DeVille.
Bush is now ranting about connecting-the-dots and the Patriot Act -- does Rove realize how unhinged Bush has become? Or is he too concerned with the coming of Fitzmas to care?
I'm more scared than ever.
