Nightline is covering the NSA domestic spying.
Oh, good. Porter Goss saying "We do not spy on Americans." That was before 9/11.

6. I think there's a trio of talking heads instead of Koppel.
And don't you like the format that gives a few minutes to an impeachable offense and then segues to a comedienne?

8. Cynthia McFadden
Actually I didn't think she did too badly. I read Kate Hepburn's autobiography
and Kate was one die hard liberal. I was surprised to read how close she
and Cynthia were the last ten years of Kate's life. Cynthia took care of her
and was truly a friend and Cynthia never cashed in and wrote a book about Kate after she died.

I can't imagine anyone hanging with Ms. Hepburn for ten years could be a conservative but who knows. All I know is Hepburn adored her so she can't be
all bad.

4. This is really what brought Nixon down
He was caught using the CIA to spy on antiwar and civil rights groups and using the IRS to try to destroy the leadership. That "third rate burglary" was just the tip of the iceberg and not the real reason he was facing impeachment when his own party told him to resign. His paranoia made him dangerous to a lot of people, and powerful Congressmen were afraid he'd turn the agencies loose on them, too.

The chill in the air during the Nixon years was much the same as it is now, a self righteous and incredibly paranoid man in the White House feeling everyone was out to get him made inappropriate use of every agency he could touch. It's much worse now, of course, this bunch is doing stuff Nixon only dreamed of.

7. Everything you said is true, and Shrub does seem to be very paranoid!
I've actually been watching for this and I suspect several of the Pubs in Congress haave as well.

I really HATE to think we have to go through another impeachment mess. It really does harm the Country more than the idiot in charge.
