What's going on with the DNC and the Florida straw poll?
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/7047929.htm

Read the last two paragraphs where Dean and Clark's
campaign were apparently told to diametrically opposed
things.

Is the DNC playing games?

prop up one of the lessor liked canidates.

2. As a Florida delegate
I resent the DNC meddling. As a Graham supporter I have to make a decision on which of the remaining candidates to support. It would be really helpful for me to see the strength of the various remaining candidates in my state before the primary.

5. Looks like the DNC told Dean & Clark that everyone else is boycotting
It is too funny that Wes Clark's campaign fell for it and had to rescind their pledge. Dean didn't bite which is also typical.

7. I Think It's About the Money
National party leaders and several of Dean's eight rivals for the nomination have complained that the Florida straw poll would drain precious resources at a critical time.

The Dems are going to need a king's ransom to compete financially against Bush once the nominee is picked. And most of the current crop aren't setting anyone on fire.

I think there's also the high probability that the DNC/DLC have already settled on their candidate and don't want to see any funds diverted from that campaign. Last week there were more states where the candidates were asked to boycott straw polls.

I think the DNC should be ignored on this, their leadership has not shown itself capable.

8. The Wild Card
There is one wild card that can offset all the Republican graft money: If the media actually does a good job of reporting the corruption in the Bush Administration, as it happens, democracy, as our founding fathers meant it to work, might actually prevail.
