$1,000,000,000 Missing and the HO-HUM Congress Doesn’t Care
A little over a month ago the story broke in a conservative magazine about a Blackhawk helicopter flight to the Kurd province of Iraq. The purpose of the flight was to deliver one billion dollars.

The money was delivered…to someone…no one seems to know who, nor, can they describe them. Hell, it could have been Al Qaeda, maybe even Usama Bin Laden in an Jack Abramoff disguise.

The question to which there has been no answer is why isn’t Congress the least bit interested in where one billion dollars went? I know they are a rubber (stamp) for Bush, but, JC it is one billion dollars.

7. That's nothing. Rummy can't account for $2.3 TRILLION
snip

More money for the Pentagon, CBS News Correspondent Vince Gonzales reports, while its own auditors admit the military cannot account for 25 percent of what it spends.

"According to some estimates we cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions," Rumsfeld admitted.

$2.3 trillion — that's $8,000 for every man, woman and child in America. To understand how the Pentagon can lose track of trillions, consider the case of one military accountant who tried to find out what happened to a mere $300 million.

"We know it's gone. But we don't know what they spent it on," said Jim Minnery, Defense Finance and Accounting Service.

Minnery, a former Marine turned whistle-blower, is risking his job by speaking out for the first time about the millions he noticed were missing from one defense agency's balance sheets. Minnery tried to follow the money trail, even crisscrossing the country looking for records.

"The director looked at me and said 'Why do you care about this stuff?' It took me aback, you know? My supervisor asking me why I care about doing a good job," said Minnery.

He was reassigned and says officials then covered up the problem by just writing it off.

10. sometimes I wonder
why we even pay taxes. I want my tax money to be used for the health and well being of my country, not lining the pockets of war profiteering, sleaze. Now, it seems, they don't even have to provide a service, they'll just steal the money. Please don't tell me these people are conservative, for they don't know the first thing about conserving!!!!!

15. and the sad thing
is they'll get away with it! I remember the savings and loan debacle. We are still paying for it--the biggest rip off in world history (that's what Berkeley Free Press called it). These people are nothing but crooks and it seems they want us to admire them for their creative efforts of stealing our money--stealing from the elderly, working families and from children. I cannot believe how ignorant people can be by allowing this to happen. Then, you have the same ignorant people believing these crooks should be admired for the wealth--wealth that was mainly stolen!
