Paul Harvey just admitted in backhanded way that Bush* LIED us into war
The way he did so was by saying that our current situation was not the first time we were lied into war. then he went on about Vietnam and LBJ but the inference was there. Paul Harvey is a right wing Bush* apologist.

2. Well it's impossible for caked on puke like him to admit that Bush has
done something wrong, without implying a greater wrong on the part of some Democrat. Sure, Bush lied us into Iraq, but that's not so bad because Johnson lied us into Vietnam.
It's their usual excuse. Clinton was really to blame, Clinton did worse, some Democrat did something sometime to somebody that was worse, so Bush is justified.

3. exactly
I used to like him and felt the rest of the story was interesting and amusing. Then I heard him go on and on one day that Iraqi citizens were the insurgents and that made them fair game to be slaughtered by our troops. i lost all respect. Maybe he has begun to see the light. In fact his former stance was so repugnant that i searched the net for a script of that particular broadcast and of course I found nothing. i did find a long list of all the great things we have supposedly done over there. Some of it was a number of schools and the other thing i recall were all these 'newspapers' and publications. What a fraud that is as we now find out. The newspapers are a front to publish 'good news stories' that are actually paid advertisements written by americans. So much for the freepress over there. Rant over

13. I used to be mildly amused by him, too, until that one day when he
was carrying on about Nicole Brown Simpson. It was during the whole sordid OJ mess here. The 911 tape of her calling for help when he was breaking down her door a few feet away had been released to the media. It was chilling. She was trying to talk to the 911 operator and you could very clearly hear him in the background, pounding on the door and bellowing - it was terrifying. She was screaming for help - the terror in her voice bitterly clear - saying "he's going to beat the shit out of me!"

So what does Paul Harvey say? He waxes all slow, ponderous, and pause-pocked, and says something like (paraphrasing): "that chilling tape of Nicole Simpson calling 911. What a shame that such a beautiful young woman should use such foul language."

(!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!?!?)

She's being terrorized by a madman wife-beating abuser who's just a few feet away from her, in a violent fury, yelling and screaming and breaking down her door, and THE ONLY THING THAT MADE AN IMPRESSION ON PAUL HARVEY WAS THAT SHE USED THE WORD "SHIT" WITH THE 911 OPERATOR???!??!?!?!?!?!??! THAT is what he took away with him from hearing that tape?

FUCK YOU, Paul Harvey.

I tell ya, I've despised him ever since that day. The guy's already threatened her and beaten her, and you can hear him breaking her door down in a blinding rage and all Paul Harvey could talk about was a swear word she used in a frantic call to 911. What a disgrace. And people absolutely idolize this old putz.

9. Yeap, and Paul Harvey Jr will be taking his place when he croaks....
Just what we need: 40 more years of verbal garbage from another right-wing mouthpiece!

5. Harvey says more outrageous things than Bennett
I heard him do this rant before and his attitude is so what if we gave smallpox to INdians and rose to greatness while breaking the backs of slaves, it was all worth it!

I'm surprised he hasn't been the target of scorn or ridicule by now. Bill Maher was taken out of the mainstream for less.

6. This is the guy who claimed lax security at AEC labs in the 1950's
He snuck onto the back forty of Argonne Nat'l Lab in Feb, 1951 and attempted to climb the fence and get onto lab property. A jeep of security guys sweeped down on him as he was attempting to extricate himself from the barbed wire at the top of the ten foot high fence. He took a risk of being jailed for ten years for that stunt. Needless to say the security at Argonne passed the test.

I worked there one winter in the late 1970's. The security at the lab is very understated to the casual observer--maybe purposefully so. I knew a guy who was just out for a walk one evening and had the guards sweep him up. This was on site and the guy had clearance to be there, but he was apparently walking a little too close to the on-site plutonium repository. Behind the polite and nice smiles of the guards at the gates lies a formidable force. I would not want to test it.

8. do you have a link on that? I find that hard to believe that Paul...
said that.

I'm mean, it seems like it would be a big deal. Paul has a very loyal, albeit, older following.
