Nuclear submaries, Star Wars missile interceptor rockets and all that other military crap has not made us any safer but has surely made Raytheon and Boeing and Lockheed's owners rich.

This is the wellspring from which John Murtha's credibility sprung. Because he was the connected conduit from my wallet to the defense contractors' bottom lines, he is a story. A worldly skeptic like me can't match that.
