A chairman of a government agency trying to manipulate publicly funded media to fit his agenda; school boards attempting to ban books that a vocal minority find undesirable by telling teachers they should teach religion in a science class; cancer cures and safe birth control either being dismissed or disallowed due to the fact that they might lead to supposedly immoral behavior; people who disagree with the government on policy issues being labeled as traitors. What was that part about fighting them over there so we wouldn’t have to fight them here? It appears they have already won.

media's version of war


I'm writing to the few people who have written letters to the editor and who don't understand that there is a difference between supporting our troops and supporting this war. They are not inclusive.

There are quite a few of us who have known from the beginning that the war was a lie. Amazing how some are just realizing that fact. The "lie" included freeing Iraqis only after everyone didn't buy into the supposed WMDs and non-existent al-Qaida link. Now, how many of them are actually free (except the dead ones)? More than 30,000 and counting.
I am a veteran and I know the sacrifice our troops are making. I also know when I am being lied to. I feel sorry for every soldier over there. They should not be there. I also know that the troops are doing everything they can to make it a positive tour and I support them.
The problem isn't the troops; it is the leadership. Tell me that torture is ok, like this government does, and I will call you a traitor to our code. As for anyone who supports this war, pick up a weapon and head for the Middle East because, if you haven't been there and don't go, you are nothing more than a coward and a hypocrite.

Nothing can change the fact that the region is heading for civil war. Bring our troops home. Beware of the right wing media that controls most of what you hear.

5. They called me last week about printing mine

but I'm still waiting. Although I think this guys letter is better then mine.

I'll have to call him tonight to thank him for his words of wisdom. It's nice to get a positive call, although since caller ID has become so popular the nasty calls have been very limited after a LTTE. Now they send cryptic unsigned notes through the mail.
