Highly Explosive Material Found In Apartment Of OU Student From Colorado
This is the guy who was seen by an off duty cop at a store a few days before he blew himself up . The cop reported that Hinrichs asked which fertilizer had the most ammonium nitrate in it. The officer got the kid's license plate #, tracked down his name and address, but local officials never acted on the info, said that they could not justify arresting/detaining him "just because" he had asked about the explosive material.

FBI agents found the same type of volatile high explosive believe to have been used in the suicide bombings in London inside the apartment of a University of Oklahoma student who blew himself up near a packed football stadium, according to newly released documents.

The FBI also discovered ``explosive experiments and paraphernalia'' and 0.4 pounds of a white powder that turned out to be triacetone triperoxide, or TATP, which is composed of hydrogen peroxide and acetone, according to warrants to search the home of Joel Henry Hinrichs III.

Federal agents found mixing bowls, a slow cooker, a thermometer, plastic containers, a hobby fuse, a circuit board, six tape rolls, chemicals used to make TATP as well as the TATP in the apartment, the documents showed.

<snip>
The FBI also found Hinrichs downloaded from the Internet ``numerous text and image files'' on weapons and explosives, including one on TATP four days before his death.

1. How'd ya like to be that little asshole's neighbor???
Or his roommate?

I wonder if we will ever know what he was up to, and with whom (if anyone) he was affiliated? He could have been one of those home-grown types, looking to advance an agenda that could be blamed on the 'terrists'...or he could have been a 'terrists'...or just a crazy SOB.

3. This all took place the week of the NYC threat
When there were pics of NY hazmat team surrounding a fizzing soda can...Bloomberg was telling the NYC public "if you see anything suspicious, report it".
Meanwhile, OKC local media were reporting that officials had the kid's private info, KNEW he was out shopping for explosives, and yet these same officials (after the suicide explosion) were saying they couldn't do anything just because the kid had done some suspicious activity at the store.
Such a contrast in "security" make one's head spin...

5. there is simply no rational explanation for this kind of thing!
I mean here is a guy who clearly was interested in explosives and yet they say they had no reason to do anything about it!! Did they watch the guy? Did they know when he arrived at the football game when he blew himself up?

And yet we've heard of infants who've been denied access to an airplane just because their names have shown up on terrorist watch lists...........

It makes no sense to me.......

6. and they really down played the importance of this in the local media.....
I remember when it happened the local media reported it as a short story. Man blows himself up outside of OU football game, but don't worry, it's not related to terrorism.

The fact that someone would choose to blow themselves up as a way of committing suicide is highly suspicious!! Whether or not it's related to terrorism.

11. Recent biohazard break-in at OU campus
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 06:14 PM by rainbow4321
Weird stuff happens there....

Oklahoma Gazette article (tinyurl'd cuz the link was too long)

http://tinyurl.com/9srfa

Cleveland County assistant district attorney Rick Sitzman said Christopher Boyce, 24, and James Kent Eldridge, 21, broke into an opening into a tunnel network beneath the university, made their way underground into the Richards Hall zoology building and entered a room with a sign on the door warning of biohazards.

“One of them had a glass vial in their possession, Mr. Boyce. Whether it was empty or not, I do not know,” Sitzman said.

An infoshop member said the group is working toward gaining nonprofit status under the name Greenbriar Collective. Recently, members of the 3rd Space claimed they were being harassed by the FBI as having ties to Joel Henry Hinrichs III, an OU engineering student who blew himself up on campus during the Oct. 1 Kansas State football game. The first line of a recent Greenbriar blog posting was “The FBI came by again.”

“This time it was about them having a ‘tip’ that the OU Stadium bomber was ‘seen moving boxes at the house.’ Sorry ya’ll, no one here has ever met him. Please go away now, because your ~70 year history of destroying innocent people’s lives is creepy, and harassment isn’t going to make us stop,” the blogger wrote.
