Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 02:24 AM by Peter Frank
Go to http://lyrics.com and see of you don't get this pop-up as well -- http://www.military.com/Careers/Home/0,13373,,00.html?ESRC=vc_car.op&np=1

Next -- we'll recruit pre-teens.

1. They've had those pop-ups on SoapZone for over a year.

2. So, what's your point?

Do you think that this should not be pointed out now because you've already seen it a year ago!?

The young a very impressionable -- and prone to idealism. There's a huge difference between idealism and ideology.

I'll just take your conveniantly dismissive attitude as an OK for military recruiters to suck in all the vulnerable today; and allow our young people to fend for themselves in a huge ideological battle for souls -- far larger a battle than the desired recruits can comprehend.

Let's abandon our children.

3. That's O.K. --
They're on their own now; & I didn't much agree with them when they were around.

6. What a bizarre response.

I put up material supporting yours and you attack me. Weird.

SoapZone is a site appealing to young women. I was rather shocked to see the military material there. I posted it on DU AT THE TIME. (Especially since any regular reader of SoapZone content would know those women were vehemently anti-Bush and anti-Iraq war.) You just noticed that it's being placed in other places the young congregate and you pointed it out, just as I did when I found it.

So why are you attacking me again?

7. My apologies...
I was up late, and just so angered by the pop-up that I took your response wrong.

Forgive me for the short fused response.

4. And let me as you this...
Do you have any loved ones in harm's way in Iraq? Trust me when I say that I will be able to detect if you tell the truth.

5. Of course they're desperate
It was pretty obvious when they started with all the campaigning on tv. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force have all shown a number of commercials on television plus they're releasing an America's Army video game for the PS2 and XBox (which is obviously a scheme to attract recruits if you've seen the commercial for the game).
