2. I thought he was great. I also thought his position on Iraq was prudent.

If Iraq doesn't get its act to gether and the US doesn't patch up the mess it made - we will all be back there in 3 years fighting WWIII.

I thought he made an excellent point in that the Bush WH choose to fire an army of one million Iraqi police & army people. That was just plain stupid. The next time any white western male asshole invades any country - I want them to call Nelson Mandela first. Cause he is the only man who really knows what the fuck in going on. The South Africans didn't destroy the army or policing when they finally got power away from the freaks in South Africa. They prosecuted the extreme war criminals - they gave people taking orders a walk and held a commission so people could talk it out for a bit (Like several years).

Seems Bush got into Iraq and fired anyone who wasn't going to enable the perfect neocon little Utopia. And they pitted all Iraqis with jobs, including the whole army and the police force who were fired, against the coalition. And even local business folk were supposed to be wiped away by Walmart. Except the Iraqis got wise and pointed out it was illegal for the US to sell off everything. Seems the neocons thought they could simply skip over the "human" in any plans. The world doesn't work that way - unless you are some freak.

4. He said the pull out could happen in a year. He just didn't want the USA
to be broadcasting their plans.

5. I have the feeling Bob had never seen the show before, he totally...
...didn't get it. Maybe at the end there, but most of the time, he was dead serious, while Colbert was still in character.

Better he stick to TDS. I like Bob Kerrey, but that "interview" made me very uncomfortable.

8. I didn't get that. I thought he was just trying to have a serious
discussion and was put off by the role Colbert was playing - because he couldn't get his points through. I was frustrated that Colbert didn't pick up on the important threads but went into character.

I guess I sorta expect Colbert to be like Jon Stewart and be the only place where real news or real interviews take place.

6. He clearly had not been told about Colbert's O'Reilly schtick
And he clearly had not seen the show before. Bad advance work.
