Question about those Abooga... Reff photos
Did I spell that right?

Anyway, if some Soldier or Marine somehow had copies of the forbidden photos in her possession, would she get into trouble if she released them to the press on her own authority?

That is, if the photos (presumably, the images therein) have been withheld by the Whitehouse under the auspices of "executive privilege" or "national security" or whatever, would her release of the copies count as a violation of that executive privilege?

This is hypothetical, of course, but I didn't know how these things are supposed to work.

1. it's abu ghraib, and you pose a very interesting question indeed. I don't
know the answer, but I am certain someone here does.

4. Heh.
Should've posted a smiley. "Abooga Reff" was a reference to Dubya's mangled pronunciation of the name.

Jon Stewart, I believe, observed that at the time Dubya was the only person in the country who didn't know the name.

Thanks, though!

2. I asked that on the other thread
I am having a hard time believing none of these have leaked yet.

(giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are joshing about the Abu Ghraib pronunciation/spelling and working hard not to correct that bit of nonsense).

3. If the Marine took them without permission and gave them to a journalist..
The soldier could be held criminally liable. However, the journalist could not. Reporters are allowed to take papers from sources that those sources should not be giving away (e.g. The Pentagon Papers)
