Dalai Lama condemns religious people who lack compassion
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/12/AR2005111201080.html

<snip>
"People who call themselves religious without basic human values like compassion, they are not really religious people," he told the audience, offering no names. "They are hypocrites." The words were unusually critical for a speaker who likes to emphasize the positive and productive.

and support the killings of Iraqis and our troops?

If it were two strangers who pulled guns on each other we'd call it murder.

When it's 10k or 100k people murdering one another, we call it war, but not murder?
We leave the word murder hanging silently on the lips of victims loved ones. Which only breeds more anger and more hatred, more war and more murder.

2. (sigh) I usually put "I'd like to buy you a drink"
but I'm pretty sure the Dalai Lama doesn't drink. Perhaps an IOU one very large sincere hug. Truth to power. (applause)

would reply that his opinion don't count cause he's an unsaved heathen.

8. What a great philosophy he teaches. And rewards are so much
for people who live by compassion. It is the only way to fly.

10. A Dalai Lama Quote which is the antithesis of B* et al:

"The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater our own sense of well being becomes."
