For all you "Leave your Cart behind" people
Other DU'ers have come out in opposition to it.

You know, I did write the manual on opposing corporations and mega-stores like Wal-Mart.

No, really, I did.

Here's another File from CK's Library, I call it "Corp 'reform'".

1. Lessons from the CIA on sabotage
2. The Restroom
3. Computers
4. Company Secrets
5. Destroying Products

#1. Lessons from the CIA on sabotage

Back in the days of Iran-Contra, the CIA passed out manuals to help the Contras destroy the Sandinistas. This manual can be used today. (Things marked with a * mean that you should be careful that you are not caught)

Tips from the manual:
Don't do maintenance work on vehicles and machines
Come late to work
Delay in completing tasks
Hide and damage tools
Throw tools in sewers or in the trash
Call in sick as not to work

#2. The Restroom

The restroom of a company is the least guarded place, here you can safely cause lots of destruction.

Tips:
Turn all the water taps on and leave them on
Take all the paper and throw it all in the trash

How to destroy the plumbing:

1. Wet a sponge
2. Wrap the sponge tightly with a string and then let it dry
3. Remove the string
4. Drop the sponge into a toilet or put it in a water drain to stop them up as the sponge swells

Graffiti:

1. Get inside a stall
2. Have a pen or marker with you
3. Write a friendly, yet Anti-Corporate, message on the wall of the stall

Example:

"From: A Wal-Mart Employee
To: All

Did you know that many of our food products are spoiled?"

#3. Computers

Computers are a vital part of the Corporate Complex. Taking them out will severely damage a Corporation.

Tips:
Take keys off of computers
Delete important files
Put a magnet on the computer
Take the ball out of the mouse and throw it away
'Accidentally' download viruses (Don't create them, because that is illegal)

#4. Company Secrets

You know all of those papers which you sign when you begin a job? You will probably sign a paper saying that you will not release any of the Company's secrets to the public.

Keeping Company Secrets secret costs the Corporations $2B annually, so of course you should release them

Tips:
Be careful! The Far Right wants the release of Company Secrets to be equated to terrorism.
Release the secret as a rumor and so it can't be traced back to you
Get rid of important documents

#5. Destroying Products

This is good in a Wal-Mart, Target, or other retail store. You take away their products, then you will take away their profits.

Tips:
With a sharp instrument, poke holes in products and bags of food
With a black marker, mark over the UPC and the numbers underneath it
Write "Made in a sweat shop" on the tags of clothes, shoes, etc.

2. RE: f'd up
WTF!! This is absurd and morally wrong. Do you really think that destroying someone else's property is "right"? Do you think this will help society? If so, how? I can't believe this is posted.

11. This is terrorism.
And there are enough cameras in these places to ensure jail for anyone who tries it.

How about not shopping there, and blocking zoning to keep it out of the community?

3. I really object to vandalism, even against Wal-Mart.
Some overworked, underpaid employee will end up having to clean up the mess, and Wal-Mart won't feel a thing. This isn't the way.

6. Please don't do it. This is perhaps the most militant thing I have written
It is little more than a theory to me.

13. Thanks for the clarification.
I would like to make one suggestion. In case anyone does decide to try some of this, please ask that they don't do anything that may spoil food bought by innocent victims. Some areas have no alternative to walmart, believe it or not.

4. All good tips but if you have ever worked retail, restocking shelves
is very time consuming and will eat into the bottom line.

Most of the stuff I have written about this is secondary research.

That first thing really can be found in a CIA manual BTW.

9. what was that?
I read that, and i'm not sure how i feel about that. When my human
goodwill, my love and my spirit are reduced to blocking the drains of
big corporations, i'll have been long dead. What a trivial pursuit
next to the rucus a real sovereign indivdual can get to.

Rather than block a drain, or leak a secret, why not create a product
that causes all the companies to dump billions in investment to
take on a virtual threat market... or simply awaken, and become a
beacon of human goodwill. And in such circumstances, would i rather
ghandi was a sabateur, or a person of conscience and direct action.

As much as i understand the frame good sir, i wonder whether i would
ever get up to those lists.. . really. For that matter, given that
it creates lots of work for plummbers, better to not get caught with
a payoff from the plumbers union.

behind' tactic as mean, inconsiderate of the staff and such and I agree. DUers have some class you know.

16. #5
Wal-Mart has forced a number of suppliers into a deal where the supplier effectively owns the product until is sold, and thus bears the cost of stolen or damaged products. Wal-Mart doesn't feel a thing. I learned this independently from senior guys at two different companies that sell to Wal-Mart in bulk.

It does take the employees themselves, to achieve the downfall of a particular corporation!

18. MY GOD!
I haven't followed whatever the "Leave Your Cart Behind" debate refers to. But has it come to this? Don't shop at Walmart--work to help those who Walmart exploits. But, for God's sakes, how could anyone here possibly be condoning vandalizing and worse!

This is shameful.
