Yesterday, as we heard on the Randi Rhodes Show, there were many misstatements made in the American political scene about the fact that no liberal talk shows were on Armed Forces Radio (the Ed Schultz case) because no liberal talk shows have 1 million listeners.
That was a blatant lie by the Republicans.
There are no documents, web sites or blogs that actually rate liberal talk shows.
Arbitron, the only rating system now in use, is not a suitable method of rating talk shows or even establishing listenership.
I have set up a new blog which is to analyse and rate liberal talk shows which are available online ONLY, using a method not in the least bit like Arbitron.
It is based on my assessment as a non-American, not resident in the US, of how good or bad a liberal talk show host does his job. Various parameters are taken into consideration which I shall explain as the blog develops and I analyse each talk show host that is rated. Ratings will be done weekly and presently I am covering 20 talk shows.
I would like all of you to visit my new blog and comment on it so as to help me come to a good enough system so as to rate liberal talk shows in a more scientific manner.
Your co-operation is requested. Any input will be carefully looked into and acted upon. Any cooperation offered will be considered. I hope many of you will join me on this journey.
The URL for the blog is
http://talkshowratings.blogspot.comPresent top rated show for the week ended 4th November 2005 as per my rating system is "The Mike Malloy Show".
