Freeper with their conflicting bumper stickers...
Two bumper stickers.

One said bush/cheney '04 and the other said 'We vote pro-life'.

:wtf:

How do they not see the conflict?

1. "Pro-life" refers only to embryos.

Actual humans outside the uterus have no value at all to the pro-lifers.

6. Carlin...
George Carlin said it best when referring to the "Pro-Life" crowd:

"If you're pre-born, you're OK. If you're preschool, you're fucked!"

3. Becuase they are blinded by BushGod n/t
This is one of my biggest pet peeves - how can people talk about moral values when you are bombing the hell out of country that results in over 100,000 deaths - how is that moral?

8. Pro-Embryo would be FAR more accurate.
Not Pro-Life (that would imply ANY and ALL life is important to them and it's certainly not--ask the dead Iraqi children--oh wait, we can't).

9. I saw conflicting stickers too
It was a high school kid. He had Bush/Cheney 04 and END RACISM and a swastika with a line through it. This boy was clearly confused.

11. Because
"pro-life" is shorthand for "against abortion". They don't mean animal life, murderers, or military enemies. A lot gets lost whenever slogans are used to represent a complex, or even a simple position. Happens with progressive slogans, too. For instance, progressives are "pro-choice". That means basically that we are for a woman's right to choose what to do with her body. We are not pro-choice to be a warmonger, a corporate executive who chooses to rape the company, the employees, the stockholders, and the consumer for his own personal profit, or pro homophobic choices.

Bush/Cheney are basically against abortion. There is no contradiction in their eyes.

12. Was it on one of those schizophrenic trucks?
You know, the ones that say "Dodge" on one side of the tailgate, and "Ram" on the other?

13. I saw some bumper stickers yesterday
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 07:08 PM by OnionPatch
on a semi-truck. There was the Marine symbol, a "God Bless America" sticker, a "United We Stand" sticker, one that said "Never forget what the Sons of Bitches did to us on 9-11" and one beautiful, gold one that said "In memory of Pat Tillman, great American Hero."

Now, I sometimes ask God to bless America (and the whole world), I am against terrorism and I'll never forget what Bushco did to us on 9-11 ;) but I'm guessing this guy was a right-winger. (I could be totally wrong) I wonder if he realizes that Pat Tillman was a leftie and Noam Chomsky was his favorite author!
