I often say that B* could kill a puppy on live tv and 33% of this country
would say the puppy deserved it

My point being that I don't think B* will go lower than 33% approval

Am I wrong? (I hope I am)

Would you want the mushroom cloud to come in the form of a pee stain on the Oval Office carpet?

3. I agree there are too many people that are that dumb
But do you think the numbers are that high?

I was thinking more like 19 - 20%,
But that is just a guess from seeing many polls on politically divided topics that fall that spread.

4. never mind killing a puppy
He could sodomize Barney in the Rose Garden with Faux News 24-hour replay, and that remaining 33-35% would make excuses for him

12. They wouldn't care if Bush played spin the doggie.
Edited on Thu Nov-03-05 07:28 AM by Hubert Flottz
Their powers of bullshit are amazing, but the lack of funds is going to piss Bush's base off, more than any other issue. The idiots should have seen the writing on the wall about GAS PRICES, INFLATION, HOSPITALIZATION, UNEMPLOYMENT, TAX BURDEN SHIFTED TO THE MIDDLE CLASS, NGs and ERs OVERSEAS AND NOT ENOUGH BOOTS ON THE GROUND IN THE US, WHEN THE BIG DISASTERS HIT!

5. I think it's even a higher percentage........
somewhere around 35-37%, of course that's within the margin of error so it's really a moot point.
There is a faction in this country that will choose party politics over the country's best interests every time. Many of them can be found at a certain web-site we're all familiar with but I'm loathe to mention. The rest are just just as ignorant and blindly loyal to their party but can't figure out how to use the "internets" or we'd be hearing from them as well.
Some people are just not capable of thinking for themselves, of critical thought or processing information. Those would be a large part of bush's base along with the rich overlords who's job it is to keep these poor wretches confused and dependent upon them for their opinions that they automatically parrot at every turn.
So yes, bush COULD kill that puppy and still enjoy the support of his "base" of mindless cretins.

11. "Some people are just not capable of thinking for themselves...."
That's what bothers me. I've talked to such people, and one can see that the "light's on, but no one's home". Is it retardation that leaves them unable to think for themselves, and an inability to do anything but parrot the nazi party line?

6. There's a core group of cultists
it could be 33%, it could be lower (who the hell knows ??) who think the sun rises and sets out of Dubya's punk ass and that he is The Chosen One.

What are these fools going to do on January 20, 2009 when he finally leaves office ?? And please - no more talk about impeachment - that just will not happen.......

10. I dunno - after this winter's heating costs hit the American
populace, Bush might get carried out on a rail.

Believe me, when it effects peoples' pocketbooks, he's toast.

15. Unless the mob storms the White House a la the Bastille
he stays until 2009.

The mid-terms next year just won't produce enough House (or more importantly) Senate seats to see him impeached OR convicted. Because a lot of those 33% are in Congress.

7. Thats nothing
While on 24 hour TV he could bite the head off a kitten, have sex with a tibetan yak while screaming "I love Satan". This would promptly be spun into - "President reveals new nutrition program", "President involved in intimate diplomatic talks with Tibetan Ambassador", and "President reaches out to religious minorities".

I think its like your typical polling statistics. 20% or so will say yes to anything.

Poller: I am conducting a poll. Pleas answer yes or no
Person: Sure
Poller: "Do you agree that...Wooga wooga, bling bling tinkly tinkly boink"
Person: Oh yes! Definitely

13. Yes, as long as...
Unfortunately, I have that same feeling.

30-35% of the country will ALWAYS support Bush...just as long as the gays can't get married... :eyes:

17. Yes, it could go lower
As a scandal deepens, it is possible for some of the most ployal of supporters to jump ship as well as a part of the "disappointment" factor.

In other words, the most loyal supporters will reach a point where they see the writing on the wall that the person they vested so much time and energy into is going down, there's no way to stop the trainwreck, and they will feel "let down".

These formerly staunch supporters can become the most damaging and vocal dissenters once the disappointment phase is reached.

This is why Bush is so desperately doing everything to hold onto the base. When the base becomes disappointed, he'll bleed support like a cut artery.

20. I Used To Think So Too, Now I'm Not So Sure, Cheney's at 19%
I think Chimpy can indeed approach Cheney's territory. That 19% is the really true hard core support.

21. I agree there is a core CULT of RWingers (Bushdividians)
who hover in that 15-30% range in this country who have literally been brainwashed (or brainwashed themselves). What did I hear on the radio the other day? The Bushdividians.

They are so deep into their hatred and denial of what is in front of their eyes that it is pathological. They are literally incapable of the reflection required.

Many of them need some serious therapy. Most need a hell of a lot more education.

And there is that really scary component of selfish people who honestly don't agree with us about basic human rights...that faction who actually think that Might Makes Right...who feel like we should rule the world. Who believe if they can kick the crap out of someone (even if it takes 5 of their friends helping) that means they are Superior to you.

And yep they exist...and in greater numbers than most thinking people dare to believe. They have existed in EVERY culture. They have existed throughout time.

And even if Bush goes away and is villified in every history book for the rest of time...they will still be here...our job is to contain them and their damage and to try and create a culture where the 75% who don't think that way are protected and secure against the 25% who will always try and rape the system by raping their neighbor.

But it'll always be a battle...and we'll always have to fight it. There are no days off.
