Okay people, taking bets
How long will it take the reich wing morans to start denouncing Rosa Parks' funeral service as crazy eyed libruls being inappropriately political ala Wellstone's funeral?

I give it a day.

3. They need something sufficiently stupid to start whining about
What with all the bad news. You know how their little brains work. ;)

6. I know
I just really liked calling them "irrelevant" for a change - you know back when they were all the shit they called everyone else irrelevant - the Democrats, the UN, the rest of the world, etc. I hope I get to say it alot more.

5. Well, since it was beautiful and moving.......
the Repugs will probably turn it into something ugly within a week. Let's see what they do when the Dem Congress and Senate attempt to get funding for a monument/statue of Mrs. Parks built and placed in Washington.

7. I hope they whine.
Reveals them for the scum they are. Plus furthers my theory that no one in the GOP has ANY sense of irony whatsoever.

Do they not understand why Rosa Parks is an icon???

EVERYTHING IS POLITICAL.

After that episode of 'Boston Legal' last night, I told my mother that, if by some horrible stroke of fate I was to end up getting killed in an American war of aggression, I would be very upset if she DIDN'T speak out. I would be upset if she just let me die in vain for some war-profiteering capitalist oligarchs. I WOULD WANT MY FUNERAL TO BE POLITICAL.

9. They probably would like to do this BUT there is so much bad
news to bury that they welcome anything that will keep the spotlight somewhere else.

This is a fairly balanced blog post from hotline but I don't like it's tone at all.

Rosa Parks' Funeral

Watching the television coverage of Rosa Parks' funeral in Detroit reminded many of us in the Hotline office about the 2002 memorial service for Sen. Paul Wellstone.

Not to say that anything we saw wasn't appropriate or something Ms. Parks wouldn't have wanted... or that Bill Clinton's eulogy wasn't moving ("She showed us every single day what it means to be free. She made us see and agree that everyone should be free.") Or that Aretha Franklin's tribute wasn't tender.

But the cable nets are dipping in and out of it. And without the context and the helpful "Rosa Parks Funeral" chryons at the bottom of the screen, you might think it was a DNC-sponsored memorial.

Many speakers tried to apply the lessons of Ms. Parks' life to modern political questions.
