Last Wednesday night on C-Span I saw a press conference with a bunch of Democrats - Reid, Pelosi and Biden that I recall offhand - talking about the new Democratic approach. They were introducing their written plan for national security. It was created at the request of the Congressional Democrats by a group of 22 national security experts, including Madeline Albright, Rand Beers and Richard Clarke. I was pretty excited. As each of the Dems spoke they talked about taking this approach to all issues. To work with experts in various fields to develop comprehensive, written strategies on the issues facing our country.
In the background, printed on the backdrop, were the words, "Together America Can Do Better".
I found the report, "COMBATING CATASTROPHIC TERROR: A SECURITY STRATEGY FOR THE NATION" (link below) and read it. I'm impressed.
Then today I saw Skinner's post with the e-mail from Senator Reid and there, in the list of bullet points, was the statement, "Together America Can Do Better".
Could we be wittnessing the beginning of a new era?
