People, it's been a great day, but we need to prepare ourselves
for what we're going to hear.

I'm talking in regards to the impending artificial reactions we're going to be hearing from the other side starting immediately. What they're going to do is try to get us to despair. They're going to ACT like all of this is no big deal. You're going to see assholes like Ann Coulter insist that what happened today is a blessing for Bush. Wait and see.

Remember the old Monty Python episode where those 2 dudes were swordfighting, and that one guy had his limbs cut off, one by one, and then he defiantly asked the guy doing the cutting, "You give up yet?" Well that's what the Repukes are going to try and pull off.

Of course they're going to play the events of the day down like they're barely significant.

Of course they're going ACT like it's no big deal.

Of course they're going to say that this will have little effect on their future.

Of course they're going to ACT like they're not all that concerned.

Well no matter how they ACT, don't believe it and don't despair. That's what they want. I guaranfuckintee you that behind closed doors the Republicans are ranting, screaming, crying, blaming one another, shitting bricks, sweating buckets....stunned by the events of the day and shocked at the preciseness in which Fitzgerald carried this off.

The Repugs aren't fools, so they're going to try and make us think we didn't make any big gains today. Don't believe it and don't let anyone else you talk to fall for it either. Today we didn't just win a small battle. This was a HUGE battle we won, and they know it. So when tomorrow comes, how about we continue to celebrate and highlight the positives. The other side will do everything in their power to play this down, and we can't let them sway us. For every time they play it down, we have to play it up and talk about future indictments and victories.

We won BIG today. I know it, you know it, and no one from the other side is going to spin this in a way that should get us thinking any other direction. We have the assholes on the ropes, right where they belong until we deliver the knockout blow. It's coming, and don't let anyone talk you out of it or get you discouraged. When a repuke tells you this is no big deal, tell them, "Nice try" and give them your best smirk.

And don't forget. Never give up!

1. I say so what
We all know the talking points are coming. We know what they'll be. There isn't anything the other side can say to make me lose the joy I felt while listening to the press conference.

Finally, a public servant who was actually serving the public. A press conference where he actually answered the questions, instead of uttering the same tired party line. He explained the process to my satisfaction and just seemed like a no nonsense guy who actually knows what he's doing.

Whatever they pay him, it's not enough. I hope it's more than Brownies salary.

2. I have to disagree with you stating this is a WIN....
...this isn't a win for anyone. This is a very, VERY sad and disturbing day. It's good the truth is finally being brought to light and its also good that more people are paying attention. But there is absolutely nothing here that one could consider a win. You have 2000+ dead Americans, hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi's --- a corrupt government that the public mostly ignored. When one contemplates what these people have cost us in blood, in standing around the world, in tax dollars, in slashed programs to our own needy ------ its a very sad day in America. The hole these people have gotten us into --- we ALL will suffer the consequences of for generations to come.

3. This is absolutely a win
for America. This is the first step toward getting this country back on track. That is a win.

It being a win does not in any way trivialize everything you mentioned in your post. On the contrary, it is a win BECAUSE of those things.

4. The WIN is that lives will likely be spared as this administration is
outed. Perhaps there will be no Syria/Iran??

NO ONE is celebrating the harm done to this country and the lives lost, we celebrating the fact that someone is finally paying a price, and it's only the beginning.

6. and I have to disagree w/you or anyone else who says
"its a very sad day in America".

If this is a sad day in America, then I won't be able to contain myself when a happy day comes. To me, politically speaking, this is just about the happiest day in over 5 years for me and the most important for America since Bush got into office. This is the beginning of the end for the most corrupt scandalous thieves in our history. This MIGHT be the beginning of the end to all the needless killing and maiming going on in Iraq. I am jumping for joy that FINALLY some justice was served to Bushco. There is nothing anyone can do or say to make me feel unhappy today. Sorry.

7. You're right. We should be satisfied with the way life sucks, and not...
...try to make it better. I'm giving up and going to watch Fear Factor.

5. If Bush** had any dignity, he'd resign and spare the nation the disgrace.
