Last straw for Freeper... putting a Koran in the WH library
It wasn't lying our way into an unjust war or neglecting the Gulf Coast that got this Freeper to give up on their beloved (p)Resident.

This idiot would probably be offended to know the WH has a copy of the (gasp) Torah too!

Putting a Koran in the White House Library
To: President George Bush
October 24, 2005

I have supported you the entire time you have been in the White House. No matter what people have said, including my family, I have stood strong in the belief that you are doing what you believe to be the best thing for the U.S. I'm done. When you welcome the very people into MY White House and then treat their holy book with honor?! I'm done. That was it! I am a christian woman and I know that these people you have welcomed would just as soon kill me and my family. I have a couple of questions for you...Has the leader of Iraq placed a Bible in a place of honor? Will they sit down and have Christmas dinner with you and your family?
Best of luck to you when you stand in front of God on judgment day and explain to him why you did not turn away the religion of a false god.

Council Hill , OK

It's like when you have a younger sibling or cousin, or (accordint to my mother) a child, and you love them even though they're a complete douchebag? It's got to be like a much more intense version of that. I file it under mysteries of God that I just cannot explain.

Oh, I received one and it was sent, God forbid, through the US mail. It also came with a cover letter on handling guidelines that a superstitous twit like her would feel she had to abide by because she is driven by fear of the wrath of God; to hell with respect.

Encouragement for the President

To:
President George Bush

October 24, 2005

Mr President
I would like to express my appreciation for all you have done as President and Commander in Chief during this time of war. I understand your frustration by all of the blame and stress placed upon you and your administration as well as friends in Congress by the media and liberal groups. I trust you will know that I, and others, are continuting to support and pray for you despite this onslaught of attacks against the White House.

As a member of the military, I hope that you will remain strong, as I know you will, in the face of the casualties in the global war on terror in Iraq and elsewhere. We are doing a great job thanks to your leadership and while each life is important, it could be much worse.

Keep moving forward, sir. I am praying for you and your administration. May God bless you, your family and our great nation.

11. clueless
almost every religion says it is the "true" religion of the "true" god... that is one of the many reasons there should be no religion in government. people of all religious persuasions have the right to practice their faith. not all Muslims are terrorists; not all christians are right wing wackos. our country should support those rights. putting a koran in the WH library is probably the smartest thing this administration has done in five+ years.

that woman needs some mind-draino to get the kool aid residue out!

Edited on Mon Oct-24-05 02:30 PM by Catrina
they spewed 24/7 to build up enough rage in their freeper followers against Muslims to get support for their war, worked too well.

That was it! I am a christian woman and I know that these people you have welcomed would just as soon kill me and my family.

That's straight from the rightwing talking points. I've heard it so many times. Bush and Rove must have thought that they could somehow engender all this hatred and rage, and then manage it when it suited them. What she doesn't get is, for one thing, she was lied to, and most importantly, she never bothered to learn about the Bush family and their close connections to very wealthy Arabs for decades!! NOW, she's shocked!!

I can't count how many times, when RWers would tell me that those 'ragheads' would kill me too, I asked them why George Bush loved them so much. Like the Church Lady, they put their fingers in their ears.

I have a couple of questions for you...Has the leader of Iraq placed a Bible in a place of honor? Will they sit down and have Christmas dinner with you and your family?

Yes, at least the former leader, Saddam Hussein would. Someone go tell her that, I'd like to see her hate-filled head explode. His main spokesperson, Tariq Aziz was a Christian. God, they are so unbelievably ignorant!! These people should not be allowed to vote until they pass a test.

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see the look on her face when she hears about the Satanists in Iraq.....

""The chief divine figure of the Yazidi is Malak Taus ('Peacock Angel'), worshipped in the form of a peacock. He rules the universe with six other angels, but all seven are subordinate to the supreme God, who has had no direct interest in the universe since he created it. The seven angels are worshipped by the Yazidi in the form of seven bronze or iron peacock figures called sanjaq, the largest of which weighs nearly 700 pounds.""

NOTE: I am NOT comparing the Quran to Mein Kampf in any way. I'm just saying that my ideological reaction to the latter could easily be compared to this person's reaction to the former.

We should not fear words or ideas. We should only fear actions carried out in their name. We must understand that which we fight, otherwise we are without virtue.

52. Such alien beliefs.
Muslims laugh, love, hate, have anxiety about the future, have dreams and aspirations. In short, they are human. Islamic militants, like our militants, the freeper, the fundie, the right wing extremist, have fear. They see the world in a narrow view, they conjure up imaginary thoughts of the perceived enemy. The muslim extremist thinks all americans want to kill him and his family, destroy his way of life, destroy his religion, no different from the christian extremist. It is always a dangerous proposition to ascribe to others your own negative thoughts.

When will people stop assuming that their enemy is some sort of demonic entity? Fifty years ago it was the German and the Jap. I have been to both countries, experienced the differences and similarities of both cultures. Demons? No, just plain old humans, some differences in language and culture, but the basic model is the same. Fifty, a hundred years from now, someone will be posting to DUII, or III, stating the same obvious facts about the muslim culture. A pity both sides cannot reach peace without more bloodshed.
