29. Yeah, he loses money like a pro
Hell, $8.8 Bn fell into the cracks in the sofa at the Coalition Provisional Authority alone! (Ever notice how the initials for that were CPA? Kinda makes you wonder if there were some old hands from Arthur Andersen around, doesn't it?)

5. Not getting worked up about this
Greenspan is, in my opinion, the worst. W will surely appoint someone just as bad, but I can't see how it can be any worse.

23. Low interest rates during Clinton years
were largely the result of paying off our debts at a faster rate. More money to lend = lower interest rates. Heated economy tends to make them increase, making it all the more unusual that they stayed low.

7. Yes, being reported by National Journal Hotline
Treas. Sec. John Snow plans to announce a nominee to replace retiring Fed. Chairman Alan Greenspan at a White House press conference today at 1 p.m, an administration official tells the Hotline.

While the nominee was not identified, the official suggested the pick will not be a surprise. Buzz in recent weeks has focused on Ben Bernanke, chair of the President's Council of Economic Advisors and a former Fed board member. Another potential candidate is ex-Bush economic advisor R. Glenn Hubbard.

11. It will be interesting to see how the markets react!
I expect a major drop when this announcement is made. Bush has lost all credibility when appointing someone; and since Greenspan is one of the few gov't officials who actually influences the market... I shudder to think what my portfolio will be worth at 2pm today.

15. Arther Anderson
I tried to think of the most inept person for this job and this is the man. He is a "Big Time" Republican that has been involved in cooking the books of most every big crooked company including Enron..It would fit perfectly with this bunch.

28. Bernanke would be great
He's dovish on inflation and hopefully would bail us out of alot of the Republican financial profligracy.

I have great faith that Bush will make a great appointment.

WE NEED AN IRRESPONSIBLE CRONY!
