MoveOn Candelight Vigils to mark 2,000 dead in Iraq

A solemn and sad occasion is about to happen. Our 2,000th American soldier is about to die in Iraq. As of right now, the number stands at 1,996.

Please join us in honoring all those lost and in protesting our government and this president taking us to war on propaganda and lies. The date of this event is to be announced, but will be within approximately 24-48 hours after our 2,000th soldier is lost.

Vigil for 2000 Killed in Iraq

This week, the number of American citizens lost while serving in Iraq reached over 2000. While thousands of families have made the ultimate sacrifice, thousands more send their children and loved ones off to a war that seems to have no end in sight.

On DATE and TIME we will gather for a vigil to acknowledge our fallen soldiers and reflect on the war in Iraq.

This is an opportunity for thousands of us to gather together and acknowledge the sacrifices made by over 2000 American men and women in Iraq and their families and speak out against the war.

This wouldn't give people enough time to get their e-mails, much less notify media and actually attend vigils. A day or two's notice will give everyone a chance to clear their schedules and attend. The event will be announced for 24-48 hrs after the 2,000th casualty.
