Why had DU suddenly turned from discussing treason, occupation....
economy and now is innundated with Rush, Limbaugh and O'Reilly posts?

It wouldn't be deliberate, would it??? Nah, perish the thought!

1. Hey!! We have the right to endlessly discuss trivia
while ignoring how our nation is being destroyed, so stop being such a Nazi and stop trying to censor us!!!! :-)

3. Because most of the posters here are paid GOP shills
establishing "deep cover" and steering the zeitgeist.

4. Because Treason and Occupation threads...

...drop like rocks. Why put all the time and research into a thread only to watch them die on the vine or be called 'conspracy theories' by the neoDems?

11. One reason they drop is that there is no new information.
The media has seemed to agree that if the President doesn't care that someone who the traitor is that works for him, why should the rest of us. “Hey, it’s all in the family so what’s a little treason here or there if it is politically beneficial.”

5. Well, when I questioned the 12 threads on Rush last week
(12 on the front page of GD alone) I was told they were enlightening all the freepers who were here disrupting. :eyes:

I told them to take it to FR, more freeps would be enlightened there I do believe.

7. Well, as part of the Rush problem
I guess I'll explain myself.

If he hadn’t sent a bunch of new visitors to our place, I wouldn’t be posting about him today. Since he did I want them to learn a few things about their hero. That is all.

You are right that we need to get back to Treasongate. The media has dropped it since * said he doesn’t think they will be able to identify who the traitor in his administration is. It is horrible, what is wrong with this country?

10. Rush Is The Putative Leader Of The Consevative Movement....
He preachs his hate of liberals to 20,000,000, people a day.....

If we can diminish his credibility by keeping the story alive it will be the mother of all coups and we will be performing a service that this generation and new generations of liberals will be endebted to us for....

12. A casual count...
Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 01:58 PM by Q
...shows there are six or seven active 'Rush Threads' right now on the first page of GD.

- I'm sure the RWingers love it when we discuss them instead of the fascists in the WH.

- You're not going to 'diminish' his credibility by constantly parroting everything he says and does.

to the Rush listeners! Like millions of Rush fans will ever come to this site and read and learn.

So glad the repukes can control every damn outlet we have.

13. We need a break from the weight of the world
With all the crap that the bush adminstration dumps on the world we sometimes need a humor break. Rush and O'Reilly provide it, isn't that kind of them

Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 02:09 PM by goddess40
So while we laugh, we must remain aware of the ditto heads who believe the crap Rush and O'Reilly spew. I think that makes it worthy of GD

edit - The term I believe would be 'black humor'. Like cops who joke about crimes, it relieves stress.

14. Spazito- Tell me about
It is deliberate. It is no different than the right wing media, discussing KOBE over CIA leaks.

18. What is the status of Traitorgate?
I hear Conyers (I think) wrote Rove asking for him to resign, whether he leaked or not, for saying Wilson's wife was fair game.

22. This is crazy...the Dems keep sending letters to Smirk???
They need to be at least calling a major news conference (not CSPAN appearances, but full news coverage) each time they send the crooks a letter in order to explain what they said in the letter. These letters are probably the subject of raucous laughter in the Oval Office, because they know they don't have to respond.

21. I can understand how you feeel about this.
But I guess that with the Arnold win, it was so gratifying to see Limbaugh and O'Reilly go into meltdown. All that pomposity carries within it a rotting center. Perhaps that was being celebrated here. In the discussions and glee was the satisfaction of seeing the proof that these people are terribly flawed.

I'd like to see many more threads around Traitorgate. And I'd like to read any accounts of today's WH press ocnference - or get a link for it.

But meantime, I relish Rush's admission of what we already knew.
