Wayne Madsen says indictments today!
October 19, 2005 -- As of 3:45 pm, there was still no word on indictments coming out of the Grand Jury on Leakgate. But WMR can report the following: At approximately 4:45 pm, a motorcade consisting of a limousine, an SUV with well-armed security personnel, and a Washington, DC police car pulled into the annex of the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse on the 3rd Streetside of the courthouse complex on Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC. The occupants of the motorcade spent approximately 40 minutes inside the courthouse. There is speculation that the motorcade was that of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Sources familiar with the operations of special prosecutors are of the opinion that given the makeup of the motorcade, the time spent by the party in the courthouse, and the moving of the Grand Jury today to new quarters, the Grand Jury and Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald have concluded their deliberations and, as both a formality and a courtesy, Gonzales was invited to the courtroom to hear the indictments, have an opportunity to question the jurors, and be the first to convey the outcome of the secret proceedings to the White House.

31. ass u ME.... my bad
I looked at the article again and he doesn't specifically say today. No, I did hear the today part from a CSPAN caller this morning though.

My apoligies for for putting the word "today" in my post. I guess it's what I get for trying to think before I've cleared the cobwebs from my brain in the morning.

out of bashing Madsen b/c of this "prediction", you may want to make amends.

I'm not at all surprised he no longer links to DU.

It'll be 5pm tomorrow...take out the trash day. They'll try to use the cover of Hurricane Wilma.

I don't know enough about Madsen to consider him credible.

8. Madsen has more than a few screws loose.
If some drunk on the street told him that there'd be indictments today, he'd report it.

And if some drunk didn't tell him that, he'd get drunk and make it up himself.

11. WTF are you talking about
"They'll" try to use the cover?!?

Who is "they"?

Fitzgerald and the grand jury? That's the people making the announcement. Why would Fitzgerald try to use the cover of anything? Ridiculous.

I wish that stupid "take out the trash" episode of the West Wing never aired. It's probably bullshit, and makes people say the strangest things. There is no "take out the trash" day. It was just a literary conceit invented by the West Wing writers.

17. Well...I apologize to you personally since I wasn't clear in my post...
:eyes:

'They' is in reference to bush and regime. Again, I apologize to you for not beling clear.

As far as 'taking out the trash'...West Wing didn't invent the phrase. I don't know who did, but a friend of mine who was a news producer in Idaho called it 'take out the shit day'. She said a lot of good stories came out late on fridays and over the weekend and get forgotten. I remember how much it pissed her off because it wasn't considered news and they were onto other stuff by Monday.

Sorry you don't like it.

33. They have zero control over the process
And sorry for being such a dick. That's my early morning mode. :-)

But the simple fact is that the Bush regime has no say over the grand jury announcement, and very little say over media coverage thereof. As for Wilma, I'd venture to say that they have little control of the course or speed of the hurricane either...

Here is a good hint. Anyone see any signs of a meeting this morning?

Note the date on this one: June 25, 2004

http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/062504_grand_jury.shtml

June 25, 2004 1600 PDT (FTW) – Washington, DC. Well-placed U.S. government sources have revealed that the secret grand jury, led by special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, will soon issue explosive indictments in the criminal investigation of who leaked the name of Valerie E. Plame, a CIA clandestine agent and wife of former U.S. Ambassador Joe Wilson, to members of the media. On June 24, special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald interviewed President Bush at the White House for 70 minutes, an indication that Fitzgerald's investigation is nearing completion and that indictments may be imminent. Bush was seated with his recently-hired criminal defense attorney, Jim Sharp, during the interview.

29. Madsen wrote this in June 2004 - no doubt he had a good source then!
"The special prosecutor has been focusing on Bush, Cheney, presidential counselor Karl Rove, Cheney's chief of staff Lewis I. ("Scooter") Libby, Cheney assistants David Wurmser and John Hannah, and National Security Council officials Elliott Abrams and Stephen Hadley.

Recently, CIA Director George Tenet and Plame's ultimate boss, Deputy Director of Operations James Pavitt, suddenly resigned within hours of one another. Intelligence sources have said the two have been cooperating with Fitzgerald's investigation of the Plame/Brewster-Jennings leak and the damage to U.S. clandestine operations which globally track the flow of WMDs.

Sensitive CIA operations that were compromised by the leak included companies, government officials, and individuals associated with the nuclear smuggling network of Pakistan's chief nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan. In addition, the identities of U.S. national and foreign agents working within the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, North Korea's nuclear laboratory in Yongbyon, Pakistan's Kahuta uranium enrichment plant, banks and export companies in Dubai, Islamabad, Moscow, Cape Town, Tel Aviv, Liechtenstein, Cyprus, and Kiev, and Kuala Lumpur, and government agencies in Libya, Pakistan, Malaysia, and Iran were severely compromised. The CIA has reportedly given Fitzgerald highly classified details on the damage done to the CIA's WMD tracking network.

According to Department of Justice insiders, the length of Fitzgerald's 70 minute interview of Bush was significant. Only one other prosecutor's interview of a sitting president lasted as long, that of Iran-contra prosecutor Lawrence Walsh's questioning of the late Ronald Reagan. However, in that case, Walsh concluded after the interview that Reagan actually did not know what had transpired in his administration with respect to the scandal. Today’s officials may not be so fortunate."

http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/062504_grand_jury.shtml

I'm no expert on Madsen, but he certainly has a source feeding him some accurate information. Remember, word on the street was that Fitzgerald had essentially finished the investigation last summer, but was holding out for Cooper and Miller to testify. Their refusal, and subsequent appeal to the Supreme Court, dragged this thing out through the election until they lost the appeal and Miller went to jail. It seems that Libby and Rove were not providing waivers just to get this thing beyond the 2004 elections.

Would they have to actually be there at the press conference (or whatever kind of event it is) to issue the indictments, or would they say "OK, go" and then Fitz would call the press conference and issue them himself?

Wow, they could have indicted yesterday and maybe we don't know yet.

when he and the GJ go in front of the judge together.

But how long will then lapse between the actual indictment and the annoucement of it? Surely he would indict and then turn around and announce it immediately.

46. it's usually a pretty quick turnaround time, they've been at it for a
long time so i'm sure Fitzgerald will like to wrap it up and so would the grand jurors. I think once they take the vote to indict it's pretty damn quick after that, Fitzgerald would have already had various paperwork done to cover the bases so it could be today.
