Whatever happens I want to thank Fitz
for not holding press conferences
for keeping his office from leaking
for showing the integrity that is so lacking in public life
for seeking the truth no matter where it leads
for not being Ken Starr

17. And another.
Isn't it a shame when we have to go out of our way to address professionalism and the correct way to do things. It would be so nice to be able to expect the behavior Fitz showed.

5. Nominated.
It's refreshing to see an honest person in the federal government. He stands in such a stark contrast to the president! This country can do better, and I think Fitzgerald is a role model of how it is done.

7. There are many more we never hear about.
I'm hoping for some of the brave, smart and clean ladies and gentlemen in the CIA to be a help to Mr.Fitzgerald.

Thank you to Mr. Fitzgerald, his staff, and all who work in government, are professional, and have integrity. They are Republican, Democratic, Independent, Green, and the rest.

Thank you to all.

15. This is what America is supposed to be about
Good people doing good things. Good people doing the right things. Fortunately, there are at least a few still left in public service. Fitzgerald and his staff are definitely among them.

18. Aye to all the above. Now, issue the indictments!
We're running out of time in the race with the neocons in the White House who are rushing us to the brink of wider war in the Middle East.

Multiple indictments can stop that war with Iran. I don't want to leave it a open mutiny by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. That, also, wouldn't be good for the country.

21. I wonder what this place will be like if, and more likely, when
Edited on Tue Oct-18-05 09:22 AM by nvliberal
there are no indictments at all in the case. Fitzgerald will likely be raked over the coals.

As bad as this is, we ALL know the Bush administration lied to get us into Iraq. We also have known about their plan dating back to 1998.

Lying is their MO. I for one cannot get all worked up about this because of the reality nothing really is going to happen.

Remember, Kenneth Starr went on a Republican-instigated witchhunt of Bill Clinton, NOT because he had a case at all but because he and the Republicans wanted to destabilize the Clinton administration from doing anything that would help it and the Democratic Party have control in Washington. I don't believe they ever thought they could actually oust Clinton, but they wanted to do damage to him and the Democrats.

And many people, including Democrats, bought into the lies of the Republicans regarding Bill and Hillary Clinton.

And if Kenneth Starr didn't indict Clinton, what makes anybody around here think Bush or Cheney, and yes, even Rove and Libby, will be indicted? Even if they were, the terminal rot infecting the nation's capital will not be removed.

22. Here's the thing I keep coming back to.
Two -- not one but two -- judges had to agree with Fitz in order to throw Judy into jail.

Those judges have seen much more of the case than we have so far. And they must think that Fitz has something quite substantial in order for them to agree with Judy's jailing.

In other words, these two people OTHER THAN FITZ obviously think something is there.

28. we need to bear in mind
the Grand Jury, not Fitzgerald, decides whether or not to indict. IMHO, Fitzgerald is convinced to his socks that he's got a bagful of criminals who need to be put away for a good long while. That doesn't necessarily mean he's been able to convince the Grand Jury of that. From what Cooper wrote about the Grand Jury being alert, not passive, and asking most of the questions themselves (and those questions being to the point) I think the GJ knows bullshit when they smell it and they will indict, but right now we're all just readin' the tea leaves.

23. I am so afraid something awful will happen to him.
They are so blatant in their wiping out of dissent, I just fear for him. I hope he stays safe. And I hope someone else (whom he trusts) knows everything he knows just in case.

Sorry to be a downer, but I've become very pessimistic since the fascists took control.

I told my hubby last night "Thank God we still have a few public officials that have some honor and integrity." My eyes teared up. I am so grateful for what this wonderful patriot is doing for our country. Stay safe, Mr. Fitzgerald.

Peace.

33. Agreed! I Still Can't Believe That Gonzales Hasn't Stopped Him
Since Gonzales believes that the sitting president should be immune from all criminal prosecution, the only explanation I can find for Gonzales' decision to allow the special prosecutor to do his job without interference is that Gonzales sees this as the best way to protect *.
