A Modest Proposal by Jack Thompson
I'm not sure how many of you are into "gamer" culture, but I'm sure everyone here has at least heard of the hack lawyer named Jack Thompson, the Miami based crazy person who basically wants to outlaw video games. Well, apparently, he now wants to make a video game of his own: http://gc.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=5883

Pissing on the severed brain stems of children? To my knowledge, there has never actually been a video game in which the goal is to deliberately kill children. That's just one of many pieces that convinces me Mr. Thompson is addled in the head. But what do you guys think?

(Also, here's a response made by the people of Penny Arcade: http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php)

3. I've played a lot of video games, but I'm a very non-violent person.
While we're at it, why don't we ban alcohol, cigarettes, cars or anything else that might hurt somebody? I'm against the idea of a "nanny government." I already had my fill of that growing up fundy. No rock music, only dresses at school, no PG movies (until age 11 or so and then very few), no "dirty" words: The list was endless.

I just got out of that kind of mindset and still have trouble feeling guilty over everything. I don't need the gov't to step in where parents, school and church left off.
