Somebody please console me
Sitting here in my office in Cal-ee-fornia feeling sorry for myself. I feel like I'm living in Mondo Bizzaro. I'm terrified that BushCo will bail out the state and make himself the hero and the dummies in my state will vote to repeat Tuesday's nightmare in 2004. To make problems worse, I don't think the Democratic leadership will learn anything from this latest heartache. Tonight's debate will be a premiere of the infamous Democratic circular firing squad. They'll attack the front-runner, as usual. Why the hell can't we understand that the only way we can beat the Republicans is to unite early on?

2. ......
Don't worry, no idealogical shift occured in Cali. It was out of pure frustration and lack of solutions. The left coast will go Democratic in 2004.

3. Because
that is what the process is, it is a contest to see who wins the nomination. It doesn't matter who the current leader is, the time for uniting is when the victor wins the most primaries. Until then, it is a horse race. A beautiful thing.

4. We know Rove is behind this
but not all Californians know this.

Realize California elected a liberal republican, at
least in words... not McClintok, that is the
good news.

5. Ahhnold just said he had spoken to * about receiving Fed help.
Unbelievable.

Actually. No.

I had predicted this too.

Ahhnold wins pre-ordained election. Bush sends money. Directly or indirectly.

6. If it is any consolation
I was happy to hear that all the candidates spent lots of time bashing Bush in the last debate.
Bush may be able to bail out California, but I doubt it. Where would he get the money when the deficit is already more than $500 billion? He needs to bail out the rest of the economy first, and he has shown zero ability to do that. California's omelette cannot be made (or saved) without breaking lots of eggs. Gray Davis started that with the vehicle tax increase. Whoever breaks the eggs is going to have alot of Humpty Dumptys looking to egg him. Just think of Arnold as the eggman, coo coo cachoo.

8. On your way home, look at people...
no, don't just look at them...see them. See how they don't all fit into your worldview. See how most of our reality is outside the media and the government. See people smile. See them talking. See kids playing. Go to the mall and look at what a wonderfully diverse and peaceful population we still are.

Yes, we're going in the wrong direction...but there are still a lot of things to celebrate if we open our eyes.
