How will the indictments be announced? News Conference?
I am just wondering. Will we wake up one morning in the very near future and hear of a press conference? How are they going to let the country know?

1. Friday announcement, late Friday conference.
This week or next.
Fitz is undoubtedly ready. Just needs to dot the t's and cross the i's.
;-)

4. Actually, Not Quite
This past week has had some major developments that will require more time. There is additional testimony from Rove and Miller (and that's only the stuff we know about) that will have to be incorporated into the case. I predict at least another couple of weeks.

I suspect Fitz's office will announce a press conference to release the results of the GJ, though I hope others more familiar w/ the process can give us a bit more detail as to how such things may happen.

14. Maybe.
But my presumption (which is all it is) is that Fitz, having worked on the case for over 20 months is not going to have to make major modifications in his case. I would think that Fitz would be aware of most facts at this point.

It may seem that there's new information now only because there's been so few leaks from the grand jury. It's to Fitz's advantage to have a little confusion about what's really going on. He may be playing a little rope-a-dope with the perps, the press (some of whom may also be perps), and the pols. He might even want to have a little fun with it.

15. I Don't Know How Long These Things Take
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 08:41 PM by Beetwasher
So I'm really just guessing, but I still see another couple of weeks, at least. Could be wrong though! It just seems that there may in fact be major developments; new people flipping, new documents etc. That type of thing would lead to major modifications to whatever case they've got. Everything would need to be double, triple checked, "I"'s dotted "T"'s crossed Etc. They'd be real careful and they're not on anyone's timetable. For all we know, this new information could lead to additional indictments that weren't even being seriously considered before. For all we know, he may ask for an extension, which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

26. I say, let them be charged and then try to make a deal
cause to me at least.. it looks like rove and Miller are now stalling.. trying to delay the indictments coming down. For what reason?.... maybe for them to get the next "terrorist attack" in play.

2. Well, when Fitz announced indictments against George Ryan
He did an afternoon press conference, around 2:30 in the afternoon. Then he announced the charges and gave a rundown of what was alleged to have happened. After that, he took questions.

I'm sure the cable networks will play it at least as often as they did the Dean Scream.

30. Oh, I highly doubt that. The WH propaganda machines will try to cover it
up. Just like the Abu Ghraib pics that were suppose to be released and weren't. Did they jump on that story? Hell no. Just like the DSM story. Did they jump on that story? Hell no. Just like the hundreds of thousands of protesters in DC on Sept. 24. Did they jump on that story? Hell no. Just like the PLAME leak case that has been going on for the last 2 FREAKIN' YEARS. Did they jump on it when it happened? Hell no. What about the lying about WMD? Has ANYONE investigated that story? Hell no. What about the idiot-in-chief's connection to the Bin Ladin family? Has anyone covered that in depth? Hell no. What about the BFEE's connection to the Saudi Royal Family? Has anyone covered that or investigated it? Hell no. What about the 100,000+ Iraqi citizens who have been murdered by Bush? Has the propaganda machine bothered to report that? Hell no. What about all our soldiers who come home in coffins and we aren't allowed to see them? Has the propaganda machine bothered to stand up and say...we're filming them? Hell no.

There are SO MANY THINGS that have been covered up by the WH's propaganda networks that they should ALL be charged with conspiracy!

10. A moment to remember? My God...
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 08:24 PM by Demobrat
That would be a moment like the Kennedy assasination for me. For the rest of my life I would always know exactly where I was when I heard those words.

In much the same way, it would be the end of something....only this time it would be the end of a nightmare.

13. was actually thinking of the 4 Lads..
"(January to December)
(We'll have moments to remember)

The New Year's Eve we did the town
The day we tore the goal post down
We will have these moments to remember

The quiet walks, the noisy fun
The ballroom prize we almost won
We will have these moments to remember

Though summer turns to winter
And the present disappears
The laughter we were glad to share
Will echo through the years

When other nights and other days
May find us gone our separate ways
We will have these moments to remember

(The drive in movie where we'd go)
(And somehow never watched the show)
We will have these moments to remember

Though summer turns to winter
And the present disappears
The laughter we were glad to share
Will echo through the years

When other nights and other days
May find us gone our separate ways
We will have these moments to remember"

I was in bio class in Catholic HS when the nuns cried and the USA died on 11/22/63..they dismissed the whole school and most employees were sent home

6. We will wake up one morning to the news that
the paddy wagon has pulled up to the White House and we will turn on the TV in time to see the shackles put on the lot of them, watching, gleefully, as they walk slowly, hampered by their chains, one by one into the back of the wagon to take their place on the bench. And will see the tears roll slowly down their cheeks as the door slams shut on the sorry sight.

Later that morning, an admin assistant to Scottie will hold a press conference saying that "all is well", and that bond has been posted for most of them, and Speaker Hastert has it all in hand... sort of.

8. October 28th, the day he has to be done,
is a Friday. I have to believe he'll take all the time he's got, especially when new evidence seems to be still surfacing. Who knows what has yet to turn up?

That's almost three more weeks...of waiting....and waiting...

......aarrrggghhhh!

16. Well, He Could Ask For An Extension
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 08:40 PM by Beetwasher
And with all the recent develpments, I have to think it's not out of the realm of possibilites. Who knows? With new documents and new people flipping, who knows what directions the case has taken? For all we know, he may be thinking of indictments he wasn't even seriously considering before and he has to incorporate all of that into his case.

An extension wouldn't be bad news actually, though it may drive us crazy!

I say get em up there and try em all. Why so much silence? Clinton's downfall was very noisy. I don't like the silence. I'd take em with what he's got and sort the rest of the chaff out later.
I could be wrong of course.

22. Silence Is Golden
It means Fitz is running a tight ship and that he's a real professional. Ken Starr was a hack whose job was to smear, not indict, Clinton. That's why he allowed so many leaks. The actual case was irrelevant. Fitz is a real prosecutor. The case counts so you don't tip your hand in any way to those you are after, thus, no leaks and silence. It's a good thing.

It just depends on how much more sewage flows through the grand jury room over the next few days, I guess.
