New Jill Stewart Question
The other day I asked about Jill Stewart...who appeared over the past couple days to lay the hammer on the L.A. Times. The title I saw the other day (all these were on MSGOP) was "Columnist"...someone here mentioned she was a free-lancer who had worked for the times. I was curious then as to the reason she left the paper.

Tonight, she's on again with Buchanan and Press and this time gets a different title as "Talk Show Host". Tonight's question is what radio station does she work for? Which city and it's ownership. I'm just curious.

2. She works for KFI 640 AM
which has lots of Fox ties and is owned, I think, by Clear Channel (tm). She worked for the Times YEARS ago (over seven) and then worked for an alternative paper, the New Times, which is now defunct.

BTW, her show on KFI was on Saturdays, I think, and only before the recall.

3. Thank You Both
I hadn't heard of her before this weekend...the only regular LA reporter you see is Brownstein on CNN. Her bitch the other day was she had written an article about Davis abusing women in his office (allegation: battery and verbal abuse) and that the Times had stonewalled yet...yet dropped a bombshell with their series last Thursday.

I wanted to find out whose agenda she's representing as it's well known that the Times feature had been 7 weeks in the work and that's not an unusual length of time to do the type of report they did and be sure that it was propely vetted (which you haven't heard a single denial that any of the stories were fabrications)...even the CEO of Knight-Ridder this morning said that the way the Times went about the story fell well within the definitions of quality, independent investigative journalism.

In the meantime she carried on about how her story had been buried, yet other than what I found on my initial google as a 1998 LA Press Press piece, there was no other reports...or allegations for that matter. In fact, I tried to look and see if Ms. Stewart's stories were either followed up...and unless I'm looking in the wrong places, I haven't found any yet.

Definitely, she's shooting for a talking head gig on Faux and MSGOP...but her extreme contempt for the Times looks like there's something else that comes into play here that questions her ability to be both an objective "journalist" or analyist. I'm still curious about that.

BTW...the KFI gig, sounds like part-time free lance at yet another Clear Channel hate radio station.
