A small point ....
At times I find it hard to watch George W. Bush. Then there are other times when he is such a clown, that I get a kick out of his uncanny ability to say stupid things.

Yesterday I saw George talking about Harriet Miers. He kept stressing, "She won't change." To add emphasis, George said, "She'll be the same twenty years from now. She won't change." All I could think of was the old ad on tv, with two guys trying to hide the smell of pot smoke in one's room, and one says he doesn't see the problem with pot, he had been smoking it for years, and nothing had changed.

Anyone who can be alive for 20 years, and not change, has wasted two decades of their life.

2. To live a life without change is not living at all. Life is all about...
changing and if you don't your mind remains stagnant and progress could never be accomplished. Small minds never change and that is why they remain small. This bush statement alone shows she should not be on the Supreme Court.

3. Can't agree with you more
I made a similar observation yesterday in a "live press conference" thread. Let's remind him that, until she got hooked up with his smarmy crowd, she was donating to democratic candidates. Guess her metamorphosis is complete ... no more emotional or mental growth for Harriet. She will just have to wait for the memo from Roberts to tell her what she thinks from her on out.

4. The fact that Miers accepted the nomination
from "the most brilliant man she has ever known" and knowing she lacks the basic qualifications for the position, proves to me that she is one arrogant woman (and lacking in common sense).

That, to me, is quite scary.

5. Qualifications .....
That's an important point. I think that democratic senators should focus on the lack of qualifications; the obvious cronyism that is a factor in Bush's inferior choice-making skills; and also the role she played in Florida in 2000. An honest senator need only have Vince Bugliosi's book "The Betrayal of America" on hand to show that the republican effort in Florida was in direct contradiction to the U.S. Constitution. Her activities in that case are solid evidence that she places politics above the Constitution.

8. It would be hard
not to take his comment as an insult. Clearly, in his opion, she is limited.
