CA recall outcome is a warning to BushCo*...a shot across the bow
Davis's CA looked exactly like Bush*s US....and the people were FED UP with CA gov't...just as the people will show Bush* the same door as Davis in 04...Washington insider OUT....and outsiders IN

1. This is the point I have been trying to make
The Freepers don't get it, what happened to Davis will happen to Bush for all the same reasons.

2. Yep! I agree
It certainly doesn't bode well for incumbents.

3. Agreed
All incumbents, especially Shrub, are in big danger in 2004 unless there is a dramatic change.

Or, the Democrats could totally screw themselves (again) by saying things like "I agree with Governor Bush." I hope they "get it" that the people want change, not "I agree" bullshit."

4. The California election was a quirk of circumstances
IMO, it doesn't reflect anything except that people thought it would be cool if Arnold was the "guvernator".

My alma mater once elected Alice Cooper as homecoming queen. This is the same thing.

6. IMO, the GOP use of loopholes and end runs around the rules is a pattern
and I would agree that the repudiation of Davis is consistent with a general sentiment against the status quo.

But Arnold is a quirk. I don't think that just any non political outsider with "We're not gonna take it anymore" as a theme song could have won and I don't think that Arnold could have won in a normal election. There was definately a coolness factor, a celebrity factor and a time compression factor. A perfect storm allowed him to win.
